Any team that puts it's faith in a one year DC as HC is asking for trouble. Saleh has far more experience and look at the problems he's having. It seems like nobody wants to wait anymore. I want it all and I want it now.

Tomlin was a one year DC. He worked out. Vance Joseph was a one year DC. He didn't. The book is still out on Staley but this far, not so great.

Overall, teams are more willing than ever to give a young coach a shot if they kill it in the interview process. Aaron Glenn is getting HC interviews, he just finished his first year as a DC with the 3-13-1 Lions.

Vance never had a fair shot. During his 2 years he was given Kevin Hogan, Case Keenum, Paxton Lynch, Trevor Simien and Brock Osweiler lol

Yeah after firing Brian Flores, you would think they would go after a big name. Maybe its just a ploy to make it look like they are doing a big search.

What is even more surprising to me so far the only names listed in their HC search are Mike McDaniels and the Bills offensive coordinator. I think they would have to be pretty insane to give the job Mike McDaniels TBH. I think teams think if they can take our offensive coaches and then they can recreate our offense. It is not an easy thing to do. It didn't work out for the Broncos. So far I don't think it has worked for the Jets. I don't think Mike McDaniels lands the job though. Again, I think they would have to be crazy to give him the job.

Edit: Dan Quinn is now on their list as well.

McDaniel could technically leave to be OC somewhere else if he will be the de facto play caller. So his interview may be positioned for HC, but it could also be to gauge his interest in what he can do with Tua, Waddle, etc. I wouldn't make that move though. I'd stay away from MIA as far as possible.

Fingers crossed these scrub franchises stay away from Demeco. He has been more important than Saleh was. What he has done with Fred Warner, Greenlaw, Azeez, Marcell is remarkable, also with Demetrius F. Demeco and Kocurek are the main gears of this defense don't want neither to leave.

If he keeps this up, he'll be gone sooner rather than later. If some team wants to hire him like the Chargers did with Staley and the 49ers have a shot at bringing back Fangio, who likely wouldn't be going anywhere long-term, I'm okay with that.

I would love Fangio if Ryans left. I just hope if Ryans leaves that Shanahan doesn't bring in a DC who runs the 3-4. I love our defense and would love to stay with whats been working.

Agreed, but I doubt Ryans gets a HC job for a few years, and Kyle's run a 4-3 since 2017, doubt he'd hire a 3-4 DC, though some thought he'd hire Raheem Morris, who I think runs a 3-4 in LAR, but our personnel isn't suited best for the 3-4, Bosa isn't a OLB or EDGE who rushes without his hands in the ground, and I think the Cards were gonna make him an OLB if they drafted him. I loved Fangio, but I'd hire a younger DC if/when Ryans gets a HC job.

Ryans wont get HC offers at least for another year maybe 2

I'd actually be happy if he just stayed the 49ers DC but no way that happens.

Same here, I want DeMeco here for at least how long Saleh was, 4 yrs.

I doubt that's it. I don't think that is even really possible either. I don't think they are allowed to hire someone for a lateral move like an OC for another OC job unless we agreed to it and why would we?

Alright alright... since everyone's PMing me left and right about being right all along w/KYLE not being a quality HC and is nothing but a GOOD OC... now I have to go public and tell you guys who I think will be a GREAT HC here that can compete w/the NEW WAVE of coaches around the league...

Since Cris Petersen is retired, I won't include his name here..

But below would be my coaching team for next year...

HC - PJ Fleck;
DC - Mike Zimmer or Brian Flores (whichever one is available)

Lol just lol

LMAO, PJ Fleck as HC, I get Flores as a DC, but Zimmer's been terrible past few yrs in MIN, and he had the talent, Danielle Hunter, Eric Kendricks, Anthony Barr, Harrison Smith, and others in the past.

Never agreed with the decision to draft Tua with such a high pick. That said, they did. The kid deserves more than a one-year shot to prove his worth. It takes a long time and a lot of bumps in the road before you transition into a bonafide star in this league. Everyone wants the next Patrick Mahomes, or instant brilliance and playoff spots plus championships. In most cases it just doesn't happen that fast.

I can remember Bill Walsh when he pushed for and eventually received the kind of roster control he wanted, with exceptions. But Walsh had won two Super Bowl Championships at that point. Brian Flores hasn't won anything. Yet. Then again, I'm also not sure if the "Flores Control" story was real, or just a plant job.

The Dolphins not only had the worst O-line in the league , it was historically bad .

to win with a young QB being pressured at historical percentages , the coach gets credit . Not the GM

With McDaniel as the 49ers OC and being involved in game planning, he can't be hired for a lateral move, even if it's for a playcalling OC position.

Now if he did leave, Kyle is definitely going to start raiding some team's coaching staffs.

Eagles might be in the market. Nick Siriani very well could be one and done in Philly.

I have a hard time believing he would be kicked loose after getting the team into the playoffs, but NFL owners are strange creatures. Stranger things have happened.

They sure are, one owner fired a coach right after he coached the team to back to back Super Bowl titles.
