Technically one would think hiring a GM first and allowing him to lead the search and make the hire means said GM will hire someone who he shares similar philosophies and mindset to maximize chances of good chemistry and a strong workplace relationship between them.

But that probably isn't always the case. Best of luck to them, glad it isn't us having to do that again.

The problem with these ex-NE guys is that they think they can act like, run their program like Belichick without the pedigree, the credentials to back it up (as a HC). People will put up with a hardass if you have the pedigree and the team is winning.

Mike Vrabel is like the total opposite, total player's coach.

I actually thought Vrabel coached under Belichick, but he didn't. Something is wrong with Belichicks proteges. They all seem to think they are the best of the best.

Tua was the GMs guy, Flores wanted Herbert , and everyone wanted Watson .

WELL, for one thing, his assistants are always landing on a bad team which owners expect so much of them.. then to act like they too " take no prisoner " approach just will never work!!

I wonder if the 49ers go after Judge as a special teams coordinator.

if JL uses his Stanford Intelligence, he'd make Clemson's Special Team Coach the HIGHEST paid coach at that position..

Could be worse, he could hire PJ Fleck as HC, oh wait, that's the guy you want, my bad lol

Glad you got good memory as far as PJ Fleck and I wanting him to replace your sorry overrated current HC of our team..

Make sure to come back here like a man IF we don't end up winning this Sunday because of KS and the pretty plays he calls to attract someone like you.. lol

Only you in the entire world considers PJ Fleck, a promising but inexperienced coach, to be preferable to Shanahan. I doubt if even dyed-in-the-wool Gopher fans rate him anywhere near Shanahan. He has a very promising future but right now he has had one year coaching receivers in the NFL and his record with the Gophers, a college team of moderate achievement, is 35 wins and 23 losses. No one is going to bump him up to coach an NFL team now or for a few years yet. He needs to build a solid base in the FBS and then return to the NFL as an OC and prove himself there.

And your last line is just completely absurd.

lol so losing a playoff game means Kyle sucks....grow up. You're wrong on this take and have been for A WHILE.

No one gives a f**k about PJ Fleck, he should worry about beating bowling green before considering anything in the NFL LOL.

His hatred for Kyle is silly and unjustified and yes his last line is ridiculous. Our HC is far from a problem and 99.9% of people that are fans or looking from the outside in would agree.

I'm old enough to remember when people considered Chip Kelly and Tom Herman the next great head coaches.

PJ Fleck is fine where he is with his "row the boat" Tony Robbins ran rah b******t that only works at the college level. If the 49ers need someone to sub in as a cheerleader or a peanut vendor, I'm sure they have his number somewhere.
Miami : we make dumb ass choices
Texans : lol hold my beer
I think the Culley fire was justifiable for one simple reason - a chance to upgrade to someone who is available.
Who hasn't dumped a b***h the moment that a Finer chick showed interest in you?

I'm sure some of the available coaches - Pederson, Flores, Zimmer and even Nagy probably have a connection with Houston and gave them a wink. Dont forget, the Houston GM guy was with the Pats when Flores was there. Flores and Dashawn Watson are homies.

I'll probably get flack for saying this, but it seems like Houston is trying to purify their organization.

I'll leave it at that.
With Houston this will go down as one of the more bizarre coach hirings and firings. He wasn't really on anyone's radar. They hired him. National publications predicted a possible winless season. They win 4 and developed Mills into an intriguing prospect. Guy is fired. None of it makes any real sense. Perhaps they (being NE types) are all in on Flores and this is a reaction to Flores being available or even Judge?
