Who knows how much of the blame is legitimately Ken's. I'm sure it's just a scapegoat situation as the Defense is Pete's baby.

Seeing as how it's Seattle, I fully expect them to start interviewing defensive assistants from the 49ers and Rams ASAP.

Read on Rotoworld they're gonna promote their D-line coach to DC. I hope that fool doesn't come asking for his job back as LB coach. Keep walkin fool!!!

Are there any assistants from recently fired staffs that would make good candidates to join ours?

I'd take any Special Teams coach right now

I don't think Kyle will fire Hightower but if doesn't get the Raiders gig I'd love to get Rich Bisaccia as the new special teams coordinator hypothetically. He and Kyle did cross over in Tampa under Gruden so there should be some familiarity there as well.

The Seahawks have requested permission to speak with Broncos DC Ed Donatell for their defensive coordinator job, per source. Donatell has coordinated and coached NFL secondaries for decades.

Just saw the Vikings want to interview Ryans. Would suck to lose him as I though he did an amazing job, but Fangio is available IIRC.
That would suck.
Fangio runs a 3-4...Niners would have to adjust their personnel: develop a NT and jumbo "elephant" hybrid OLB/DE (do-able)
IDK why the zone has a love affair with Fangio. He prospered here with an elite roster (as most would) the rest of his career is middle of the pack at best.
He is good - but elite? I dont see it.

Fire Hightower and replace him with Rich Biscaccia? I'm down.

Possible replacement if someone steals Ryans?

I doubt it. I think Shanahan would promote Bullocks, James Bettcher or bring in a Gus Bradley if the Raiders change coaches after all.
I can see Norton joining the staff as a LBs coach or general defensive assistant. I don't know if Johnny Holland is back with the team after his cancer diagnosis and Bettcher could get snatched away by another team to be DC.

Say what you want about Jason La Confora, I've sure been critical of him many times, but this is an interesting read which has some really good points on coaching trends, and how what teams are looking fall back to the Shanahan and Reid coaching trees.
