just about to post that... kind of late in the process to now starting a interview process

no ones hired right?

Dont think its too late. Although with that cap situation i dont think its super desirable although kamara and that D is legit

I think that the Saints will just promote a guy from Payton's staff, maybe Dennis Allen.

I think they go the same route they did last time with Payton and take the Dallas's OC.

Wow. I think he just wants to take a year or two and then go somewhere else. That team is in bad posiiton and he knows it. Cap hell. No QB. He is a smart cookie. Kinda screwing the Saints over though, cause he is responsible for the Cap situation there.

He's got 3 years left on his deal. He's stuck there unless someone trades for his rights.

He can retire and void the remainder of his contract. Sit for a year or two in the booth and come back somewhere else.

Yeah. He will enjoy a nice long Vacation. Then come back and get his choice of any availible Coaching job he wants. Meanwhile Saints have to gut there roster and go rebuild mode. Like I said he is a smart cookie.

I could be wrong but I somewhat doubt if he would be allowed to void a contract in that way. If he wishes to return within the contract' life, I think the Saints will have the option of picking him up. If they want him (!).

Bears hired GM Ryan Poles

Stole him from the Vikings.

Vikes may like Kwesi more, rumors they are trying to finalize. Kwesi could steal McDaniel or Demeco from us, he is familiar.

Why do you think the head coach is responsible for the salary cap and not the GM?

like with player contracts, it doesn't work that way

You can't void the contract unilaterally before it expires.

They are both responsible. But I see Payton as the running that Ship. Like Kyle runs this ship.

You could be right but even if the Saints did still own his contract rights if he came back after acouple years. Coaches never come back to the place they were previousl. At that point the Saints will have moved on. They might be able to get some compensation for him at that point. But again I cant even think of instance of a HC leaving and then coming back. And even if they did try to force his hand to come back and play for them(which is highly doubtful) at that point the Saints would probally be better then there current situation.

if the saints are tired of him then it may be a clean break, but i think it will have to get ugly for the two to separate

Am I the only one who thinks this is a rat abandoning the ship move? Saints constantly restructured deals and kicked the can down the road. Now they have to blow it all up and this little b***h says he's stepping away. f**king respect him as a coach but he's a b***h of a man.
