Leftwich should be the Jaguars HC right now but the the team owner is a potato and chose to stick with Baalke as GM.

Why is potato an insult? I like potatoes. French fries, mashed potatoes, tater tots, hash browns. Who would want to live without potatoes?

Just cause potato's are delicious doesn't make them smart.

Potatoes are a hell of a lot smarter and deliver more value than the current Jags organization.
Gotta say this was the most controversial coaching cycle I have ever seen. All because of Flores lol.

I would not rule out the possibility that Flores' lawyers are right though. I would not even hold that against the owners, I would have done the same but at least I would explain it to the public.

This is so dumb. If I were to sue a business and then apply for a job at said business I would not expect them to hire me under any circumstance.

Looks like Lovie got the gig.

it's rare an NFL coach gets two different chances, let alone three like Lovie. He went 8-24 with the Bucs after his Bears tenure.

In 2 years on a trash team that just drafted their QBOTF in year 2. And Winston looked promising in year 1. What was he objectively expected to do with THAT team? What is the standard for the first two years on a trash team?

he should have been given at least 3 years. It's not fair to fire a coach after 2 seasons of a rebuild.

Agreed coaches should get 3 years but that doesnt always happen.

Then again what if we gave Chip Kelly 3 years? We'd miss out on Kyle for sure.

False. This was not due to Brian Flores. This was due to the owners discriminatory HC hiring practices.

Yes they should. But when a Kyle Shanahan is available, yeah, you fire your guy lol. We went from Chip Kelly to Kyle Shanahan. They went from Lovie Smith to Dirk Koetter, who was on no one's short list of future head coaches.

I'm not referring to him in a negative light im glad he brought this to the spotlight that's what I'm trying to say. Deion sanders had an interview with niner Nation podcast and he made a point about if we want real change we should have some expansion teams and get some minority owners. I'm honestly in favor of that.

Pretty sure Flores is going to be blacklisted. No pun intended. Thats how the NFL works.

This lawsuit was basically throwing his career away for what he believes is right. It takes huge balls to do what he did.

Kyle's record after '17 +'18 for us wasn't great either. I'm happy we had the patience to give him room to build.

But the garbage he inherited!
Seahawks fired former 49ers TE and OL Coach Mike Solari.

He chose to get rid of players and not retain others.

He CHOSE Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley, and traded up to draft Beathard....when others were available for him. He had full control of who he wanted. Many coaches don't even get that. So no sympathy from those early years.

I'm glad he turned it around though.
