I think Leftwich will get a look but I think the others are far more experienced candidates and have better overall resumes.

Caldwell over Leftwich c'mon man...

He's a has been retread with no history with the Jags. Somehow he had prime Peyton Manning, prime Matthew Stafford and went 2-4 in the postseason. Did basically nothing. Without Manning when he got hurt Caldwell got exposed 2-14. Currently Dolphins QB coach how's that going?

If I was a Jags fan I'd literally be organizing protests outside team HQ if they pulled crap like that.

My contention is that Trent Baalke will NEVER hire Byron Leftwich. Ever. That is the smart move. Trent Baalke doesn't make the smart move. With San Francisco, he made a series of idiotic moves that led to the early departure of Jim Harbaugh and a string of losing seasons and piss poor drafts.

I cannot understand why the Jags made the move to give Baalke another shot, but they did and now Jacksonville is stuck with him. I wish him the best, but given his track record, I don't think Jacksonville will improve much.

You could be right, of course. But to say that Baalke won't have any influence in the matter would be a stretch. But, again, that's just my opinion.

This isn't my personal opinion it's me looking at it from the Jags perspective.

So who is the next Jags head coach? Chip Kelly? Jim Tomsula? Mike Singletary? I think we can rule out Jim Harbaugh!

He right here:

Leftwich stands head-and-shoulders above all the rest of those guys. As a player, he did not have great talent so he had to learn HOW to play the game, not just rely on talent. He came up under Arians who is a great teacher and understands how things work. Everyone else is competing for third place.
The stuff outside of football will get you fired quicker than any football decisions, especially when you're HC in the NFL. I have to think Meyer's ego is such that it veiled him in being clueless lol

Oh absolutely, he's been able to get away with much worse at OSU and Florida, so he probably thought he was doing fine. He's so full of himself.
Word is he has about $50 mil remaining and it's either paid or denied if fired for cause. This could be some legal fireworks. Imagine that money denied that's one hell of an expensive Applebee's lapdance.

Meyer is on a much, much worse team. It's not even close.
Jim Tomsula will be the next coach of the Jags, and they will beat the 49ers in the super bowl next year. You heard it here first.

With Colin Kaepernick at QB. I would delete my franchise at this point and start a new one.

You say Prime Stafford and Manning like either were known for postseason heroics. Before Manning went to Denver I think he had an identical postseason record to Donovan McNabb. As for the exposed part, most coaches look like trash without their starter. Furthermore, look at Detroit since he had left. Stafford never has 4 winning seasons as a QB. Three of the four were with Caldwell and they happened in a 4 year stretch. His lone Pro Bowl appearance was with Caldwell as coach. Jim Caldwell isn't the hot candidate but to be so dismissive in spite of the facts is interesting to say the least.

Who is on your interview list? If you were a Jags fan the protests should've been last year with that trash hire of Urban Meyer.

I posted that above. Byron Leftwich. Dude was the Jags QB in the day and is OC for the defending champs. Hire this man over some expressionless sideline zombie who was canned twice and keeps coming back from the dead and is now close to 70.
The curse of Baalke. Lol, why am I not surprised.
