Coach trusted him with the ball in his hands in multiple 4th downs and he didn't deliver. Those are the facts. I agree he probably shouldn't have trusted Herb. Herb hasn't proven he is clutch. Easy to beat up on junk opponents like the giants. He has played very poorly against playoff worthy teams

Herbert put the team in position to score points to win the game. That loss is squarely on Brandon Staley, no one else.

Yes, failed by trusting herb who hasn't been able to get the job done in those situations. Lesson learned for the coach: trust your kicker, settle for FGs unless you want a turnover on downs from herb

The Chargers are a young team at a lot of positions including QB. They haven't done a whole lot fir a long time and they're trying to win fans in LA. Going for it all those times may not be the best strategy but the players and fans love it. He's telling the offense that he believes in them. It didn't work out but I doubt that the players are blaming the coach. They're the ones that failed.
