Gore? No. How many rushing titles did he win? Zero. How many times did he lead the league in TD's? Zero. How many Super Bowl wins did he carry his team to? Zero. Even playoff wins? Maybe 5? He made the Pro Bowl 5 times...in 16 seasons. Not one year was he ever THE best running back in the league.
He played a lot of seasons, no doubt. He stayed healthy when a LOT of people didn't think he could, after his knee injuries in college. But it's the Hall Of FAME - not the hall of longevity or the hall of very good.
The closest case I can think of that is somewhat similar in Charlie Joiner, though Joiner did make an All-Pro team and finished number 1 in every significant category for receivers when he retired.
Sad thing is I think Curtis Martin beat him by one or two yards in 2006 for the rushing title.
With that said, I say both Roger and Frank deserve it, BUT I'd put Craig in over Gore inspite of the numbers and longevity. Craig is part of the story of the NFL and a key part of one of the greatest dynasties. His ascension as a a more featured part of the passing game (as well as addition of Rice) took the West Coast Offense to another level.
In 2006, he was 3rd in rushing. Behind LT and Larry Johnson. He was 120 yards behind LT...but 20 fewer TD's! And that was the closest he ever got to a rushing title.
TDs are more a function of the sideline talent (HC/OC scheme) than a RB's talent.

What a silly take imo. He's top 5 all time in rushes, rush yards, and scrimmage yards. That sentence alone means he is a stone cold lock. Imagine being top 5 in one of the most fundamental catagories like RBIs in baseball in not being in the HOF lol. Rush yards is one of the big leaderboards in pro football he's top 3.

Frank put up 1700 yards in 2006 on one of the most one dimensional offenses I've ever seen. He saw 8 9 even 10 man defensive fronts and they still couldn't stop him. That offense featured a young Alex Smith and Arnaz Battle at number 1 WR. He's without a doubt a HOF player, a class act on and off the field. I can't belive were still discussing this

12 consecutive seasons of 1000 yards from scrimmage.
Only RB in NFL history to achieve that, and with the way RB's are treated in the modern game that may never be repeated.
Yes, he deserves to be in the HOF.

As someone who watched Gore...refusal to quit is his HOF legacy.
In a league where RBs are used up and discarded before their 1st contract extension this old dog had more seasons played than games mizsed due to injury.
16 years and only missed 15 games...that is insane.
Gore was running into stacked boxes on dog s**t teams most of his career and squeezing through the tiniest of holes.
He wasnt a home run threat but he was gdamn dependable for 3 or 4 yards a pop and one of the beat blocking backs i remember.
And at the end he is 3rd all time
He didnt razzle dazzle...he just kept coming at you no matter how many bodies you stacked in the box.
He was phsysical with an F as Singletary liked to say
