Frank Gore HOF?

He's getting in regardless.

A no-doubter.
Man during those 49er teams around the 2005-2010 years...
- Frank Gore ran the ball against 8 man defensive fronts that didn't fear the pass at all.
- With usually 6th string NFL Europe quality QB handing the ball off to him.
- With CFL tier offensive lineman trying to block for him.
- With vanilla OCs that ran high school offenses.
- With s**tty players that didn't give a damn about winning.
- The only year he had a respectable OC was Norv Turner for one year.
I hate to see one of my all time favorites go into boxing. He's taken enough punishment during his career. He doesn't need to get pounded in the head anymore and put him at greater risk for CTE.
The real question is if he's a first ballot HOF or not.
Without a doubt, the greatest RB to ever play after tearing both ACLs.
Rushing yards are one thing, which is HOF worthy. But also the 4.3 avg….granted last two years hurt that average…but a career 4.5+ yds a carry, which 90% were on terrible teams. My god…put him on Emmit's HOF O-Line and he obliterates the record. He averaged more than emmitt too!! He never got national love bc of s**tty teams, no rings, and he is a quiet guy on and off the field, doesn't look for attention like some other players. Gore is my favorite Niner. Been a real fan since early 90's, so that's saying a lot imo.

Dude came back from multiple devastating injuries, at a position where those injuries end careers. Was behind Mcgahee, Willis and James at the U, and was still considered better than all of them. Was a durable workhorse his entire career, and those most physical position, if he is not 1st ballot idk who is.

On that play where he busts loose vs BAL in the Super Bowl if he goes full on Beast Mode and runs thru everyone he's first ballot.

He has a similar case to Curtis Martin imo, only Martin played in the NYC and NE markets. Martin was not first ballot. He is one of the greatest RBs of all time. Made it 2nd year. Who cares at the end of the day on first ballot? Gold jacket is a gold jacket no matter the year you get it. John Madden who is as important a figure as there is to football was not first ballot had to wait like 20 years.

Disagree. He's got some things on his resume. Length of career is one of them. But he doesn't check off all the boxes. There are no Super Bowl rings. That's a biggie.

Roger Craig has three rings. He would have earned a fourth by not fumbling late against the Giants in the NFC Championship Game. Roger Craig was also the first, and among the few, RB's to achieve 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving in a single season. He doesn't have Frank Gore's longevity, but he checks off a lot of boxes that Gore never did.

Craig still isn't in the HOF. He may never make it. Roger Craig deserves the honor far more than Gore. But that's just my opinion.

Craig is not a HOF. 49ers Wall of Fame sure. Gore finished 3rd all time rush yards.

Craig 13100 scrimmage yds 79 total TD

Gore 19985 scrimmage yds 99 total TD

Craig had the benefit of no one caring what he was doing. No offense to him but when you are going against Montana and Rice you are game planning for those guys and letting Craig more or less do his thing. Meanwhile Gore was getting his with straight up clowntown at QB, keeping no one off the LOS. I want to say Shaun Hill started 2 season openers, JTO got 1, Alex and Dilfer split time in 07, etc.

Both should be in the HOF.. but Gore did nothing special the last 5 years

Craig change the RB position in the NFL (Game changer)

Gore just lasted longer (Logevity)

Longevity alone doesnt get you top 3 rushing yards all time

Gore has a career 4.3 YPC

Emmitt Smith has 4.2 YPC

Not flashy...just got positive chunks every time.

In MIA in 2018 at age 35 Gore averaged 4.6 YPC and had 722 yards

Most RBs are on the scrap heap within 5 years....frank the tank just kept plowing ahead

I say yes but your last line may be a consideration on the committee "If Craig isn't in, then we have to pass on Frank". That sucks, because if Frank was on any other team, he's in.
