Raiders fired Mike mayock

I remember when people on this board thought Mayock and Gruden were a better duo than Lynch and Shanahan lol

Competition for Daniel Jeremiah to get clicks?

They need him back ASAP
At least he has time to prep for the draft and comment on that for NFL network
If one of the 9ers GM helpers leave, i would bring him in as a consultant. He sucks as a GM decision maker, but knows how to identify talent.

That last part is a stretch

No lie. I'd rather bring Scotty McDrunk back as a consultant than that turd.
It's worth noting Gruden had 51% control of the draft, Mayock 49%. In other words, Gruden had the final say. So, I'd say JG bears more of the responsibility for some of the picks that didn't work out that well than Mayock. Whomever Davis picks as his next GM should have primary control over the draft...that is he should have the final say after conferring with the HC.
Don't get it. The Raiders are competitive.
Either I don't know it better or some HC candidates want a different GM.

Rick Smith, former Texans GM. Definitely Scot McLoughan. Here's another name- Marvin Lewis. The Bengals woefully underachieved under his coaching tenure and even though they have the owner Mike Brown listed as the defactor general manager, that team never brought in talent at the rate they did prior to him coming there. Short of those guys with character issues, the Bengals along with the 49ers of the early 2010s were the most talented team in the NFL IMO. I always figured he had a lot of sway in that building, much more than a general coach to have lasted so long.

As for Mayock, I liked him on NFL Network and for people who think Lynch misses on picks, look no further than the Raiders tenure. Not sure what their research prior to said about Ruggs or Arnette, but Clelin Ferrell over Josh Allen and Brian Burns? There are some other picks that will make a Raiders fan take a few shots.

Regardless of Gruden's influence, Mayock oversaw drafts with significant busts with early selections and backfired trade with Antonio Brown. While Mayock is respected as a media draft analyst, we don't know how he's respected as a front office executive.

While he will always have more class than Baalke, Mayock could be the bottleneck of having more HC candidates interested in the position. And if the rumor is true with Harbaugh, you sure as hell going to cater to his GM/VP of Personnel preference given his experience in SF.

Good guy, but too many mistakes set him back.
