Theory that isn't as crazy as it sounds on the surface: Tom Brady may be looking for a graceful way out of Tampa, and a graceful way into San Francisco. https://t.co/rnAV0hN1N9

It's possible he could just drop like a rock, but that is extremely unlikely. If we could get brady, you do it.
In this instance I am not wrong in the least. We have Trey Lance and he will be the quarterback of the 49ers' team that finally wins Lombardi #6.
Brady was great. I like Brady a lot. We had our chances to bring him in when we should have and we didn't. This is not a time where we should.
When we actually get into the numbers, we need what money we will have after the Jimmy G trade to shore up the roster around Trey.
We have questions on 80% of the starting O line and questions about depth therein. We have too many free agents we need to hold onto.
If we bring in Brady we will lose pieces around him and take a risk that at 45 his skills have not diminished in any significant way.
At this juncture, based upon his age and our salary cap situation, I would not do it. I find the notion unrealistic and utterly ridiculous.

More time to develop lol....doing what? playing 3rd string QB scout stuff again? He's gotta play football at this point to actually get better at football.
They made their choice with Lance. Now it's time to play the kid and see what he can do. If he's the worst thing ever Brady will be sitting there waiting for the call in 2023.
Not if we look like dog sh*t and possible regression. A lot can happen in a year. The NFL is an act now results now league. 1 full year is like 1 week in the NFL
Possible regression happens man, that was a chance they took when they went all in with Lance. If they have a less then stellar yr (which according to some is not winning a SB) BUT it helps with the growth of our young ass QB so be it. You gotta play football to get better at it, I don't know why people have such a hard time understand and getting that.
It's not step on the field and be great from day 1 in most cases. It's progress and improving.
The general idea is that the longer you wait, the better your first 16 games will be, and possibly ceiling too.
Aaron Rodgers starting for the Packers in 2005 wouldn't be quite the HoF he is today. Would be worse if he was drafted by the 49ers.
Not terrible, but not quite this all time juggernaut talent. He had work to do to make him who he is. Had to wait three seasons to get the starting job. THREE.
Whatever, I'm not worried. Either Lance is playing week 1 this year or we've got a HoF making him wait an extra season.........win win either way.

I don't really know if numbers are gonna be an issue here. If he is released i really don't think he will be looking for some major contract for a year. He could love you his dream being a Niner for a year. He has made enough money and has even said so himself. If he were to come back without us having to trade anything i think he will take something cheap to keep pieces around him.
The notion that it's unrealistic is fair but utterly ridiculous is a little simple minded.
Honesty i don't think we will go crazy to bring Jim in and will use the "wait and see" montra for the next two months.

Folks, more and more dirt are coming out about how Shanny pi*ssed off Tom. First it was the article on Shanny being insecure and clashing with Tom in the 2020 interview.
Now, they are saying Tom is holding a grudge against the 9ers. I don't know what is what anymore?

Not sure I really believe all of it. I know when he said "you're sticking with that MFER over me" it's been recently debunked about him going to the Dolphins and them choosing Fitz over him.

All I will say is this if Shanny and Lynch won't or can't get Tom to suit up for us in 2022, there is a good chance at least part of these stories are true. Otherwise, I just don't see how they would rather play Lance over the GOAT especially after the Rams have just won the Super Bowl.

Agreed, I really hope we can land Brady. I believe he "retired" because he wanted to come to SF, and Kyle better not say no twice. The Niners will be cursed forever if we turn down the 2nd GOAT.
Now we are hearing reports about him having a grudge against the Niners. So that part makes me nervous. But maybe it's scam so the Buccs believe it. I can only dream

Patriots fans have come out to say that these guys are morons that routinely make up stuff and haven't broken a single story before but sure, they got the goods on this one.
It's amazing the stuff that people will unquestionably believe. Shanahan doesn't let anything out so you'd have to believe that Brady's camp put this out there and for some reason they slipped Rapaport, Schefter and Wickersham to give this juicy gossip to some small-time radio talk show producer.

The former is people who actually played with Brady, the latter are these guys:
Odds are good that Brady stays retired because he's 45 and has absolutely nothing left to prove.
It'd be cool if Brady opted to finish up his career in the Bay Area but I'm not counting on it. People who are setting the expectation that anyone other than Trey Lance will be starting for the 49ers Week 1 are just setting themselves up for disappointment.

Me too. The dude threw for 5,300+ yards and scored 43 passing TDs just last season. You are not going to get any QB with a better production than that.
Let's just hope all these stories are BS. If not, Shanny will have a lot to answer to. This 9ers squad is ready to win now and has been ready for quite sometime. We cannot afford to waste any more time! Let's get Tommy and go for a legit Super Bowl run!!
