I guess you missed the NFC Playoff Game where the Rams smoked Brady, in Brady's house. You did see that game, right? Brady was HORRIBLE.

Tom Brady is done. He wanted to demonstrate that he could win a Super Bowl without Bill Belichick and he did just that. Bringing Tom Brady to the 49ers only sets back the development of Trey Lance for another season.

The NFL is a young man's game. Brady had a great run. But it's over. Time to move on.

If we cared about ammo and winning we could have spent the 3 first round picks we used on lance to give Jimmy more ammo and possibly won with him.

We could have had von Miller and obj and more with those picks.

Lance is not a proven commodity. Those 3 first round picks could be the biggest reach in history if he busts. The Brady investment is minimal when we basically will play here for peanuts.

It's nothing compared to what we wasted on kwon Alexander or dee Ford, even compared to what we are getting out of Fred Warner and his contract.

The whole mcvay not having to rebuild thing vs shanny is way overblown. He had Goff and Gurley whereas shanahan chose to role with hoyer and Hyde. Defensively we were just as good as them if not better, we still had Buckner, armstead, Thomas, reid, ward, and spoon.

None of either teams wrs are still on either team. That's just a cop out because the truth is mcvay has done better and had the same amount of time.

That's not a slight on Kyle it's just the truth.

They told us all from the jump they were about long term building and planning and wanting to build a dynasty. They didn't come here to try and throw everything at winning just one SB and then figuring the rest out as they went along.

They went and got Trey because they weren't getting everything they wanted from the QB position with JG. And they understand the risk involved, they also understand that it's rare for a top FQB to be had in FA or via trade with the ability to build around said QB for the long term. So you are going to have to potentially draft one to try and get what you want from the position.

Shanny didn't choose to role with Hoyer and Hyde, it's that he had to get guys who could help install and run his system, guys who could help with the cultural rebuild of the locker room and franchise. It isn't like there was all these studs to choose from or trade for right when he took over the team.

We were rebuilding the entire D with a rookie DC while they were retooling theres for a veteran Wade Phillips. Their roster was more akin to what Harbaugh walked into here whereas Kyle took over a dumpster fire. Kyle wasn't able to be hired til much later in the process than McVay due to the Falcons success that year, meaning he also had fewer top assistants available to build his staff right from the get go.

Not overblown at all, rebuilding a roster takes time to find the players who fit what you are trying to do. If anything what Shanny and John accomplished by rebuilding this roster is undervalued and underappreciated by our fans, nobody can point to another HC/GM combo who rebuilt 90% of their roster in 2 seasons and made it to a SB in year 3.

Bengals went from having the 1st pick in the draft to SB in 3 years, just sayin.
Bruce doesn't think he's playing this yr (staying retired)

That would shock me,'' Arians said Saturday of speculation that Brady would play in 2022. "And he let us know in time to do the free agency like we've done in the past, that's why I don't see it happening.''

You think Brady is losing a 10 point lead to Pat Stafford with our defense backing him? On what planet?

I think so poorly of Jimmy after his performance in that game I think Derek Carr and Kirk Cousins wins us that game and the SB.

So do I want Brady if it means pushing Lance back another year. Absolutely! If anything happens to be Brady next year we have the best back up in the league!

Brady isn't playing this yr and it's just another rumor to keep all these news outlets rolling

No, looks like you missed that game. Bucs had lost a lot of key players. TB was doing his thing, but defense gave up big plays and lost because of a field goal.

He just wouldn't be playing for THEM.
I heard a USA Today reporter talking on KNBR and he asked why would Arians trade Brady to the NIners and possibly have to face him in the playoffs. That makes a lot of sense. If you are going to trade a guy like that you don't want to face him next year. The Bucs also face the Niners in the regular season.

Good, its stupid to trade for him now.

Brady could simply ask them for his release if he wanted to play again. Would they really be willing to play hardball with someone that they invested nothing to acquire, who brought them a SB win and actual relevancy?

The thing is it was not a dumpster fire. The team had talent. 90% of the defense is still starting. Sure he had to find a quarterback but he had options in even in 17 with mahomes, Watson, or Romo or making a trade for cousins. He chose hoyer.

To say mcvay had some great head start in player talent is way over exaggerated. If anything is getting a consensus generational player in bosa that everyone knew was the best player at 1 and has lived up to the hype should have pushed us over the top. Last I checked Goff isn't tearing it up in Detroit nor is gourley going to the hall of Fame. Mcvay has just done better in the same amount of time.

He won't get Brady because Brady will call his own plays and they would clash. They also won't do it because it's admitting they should have got him two years ago and his pride won't let him. He would come here for peanuts and give us a year or two of good chances for a Superbowl. There's actually less risk now than two years ago because nobody knew if it was Brady or bellichek who was the genius behind the Superbowls.

Turns out it was Brady.

Romo retired following the 2016 season, he wasn't an option and he had back issues. Mahomes and Watson is a silly argument for an option because neither was a consensus top 10 pick and one went 10th the other 12th. Trubisky was the consensus top QB.

Nobody knew with any certainty that they would become FQBs. It just proves that drafting a QB is no easy task and nobody has proven they can do it consistently.

Gurley had knee problems and Goff wasn't a FQB. But McVay was able to get a little out of Goff by calling his audibles before his mic cuts off when the play clock hits 15 seconds. They took advantage of that until Belichick smoked that out.

Again, our rosters were not comparable when both new coaches took their over, ours was a dumpster fire, theirs was not.

The whole pride and ego but is a bunch of fan conjecture. Not rooted in fact and just basically guessing.

So true evil. His argument is wrong on all counts. Our team was the worst team if not a top 3 worst roster in the nfl. McVays was way better. Maybe he didn't know the rosters and is trying to either downplay the absolutely stunning job the niners did in that turnaround or trying to prop up McVay and the worst SB performance possibly in history vs the Pats with plenty on offense.....3 points
