Tom Brady, QB retires again

Shop 49ers game tickets
Just like Maiocco said, 2 things can be true:

1. The 49ers would be fools to not pursue Tom Brady if he truly wants to come to SF

2. The 49ers believe in Trey Lance as the QB of the future

For some reference, Aaron Rodgers sat for three years behind Brett Favre.

Having a QB sit for 2 years isn't some new idea and it doesn't mean the team doesn't believe in the player...especially if you're having him sit for Tom Brady.

If we had Brady this year we smoke the Rams by double digits. I think it's clearly evident our roster is superior. We all know our set back is Jimmy.

I guess you missed the NFC Playoff Game where the Rams smoked Brady, in Brady's house. You did see that game, right? Brady was HORRIBLE.

Tom Brady is done. He wanted to demonstrate that he could win a Super Bowl without Bill Belichick and he did just that. Bringing Tom Brady to the 49ers only sets back the development of Trey Lance for another season.

The NFL is a young man's game. Brady had a great run. But it's over. Time to move on.

Straight owned him. Brady ate two L's to the Rams this season. We were 2-1.

We are by far a better well-rounded team than Tampa. They lost Antonio Brown and Godwin. In the playoff game Brady was playing without his all pro RT. They defense is sub par and coaching is pretty terrible as well. The only reason Tampa was as good as they were was because of Brady. Watch, they will be up for the #1 overall pick in 2023.

Tom Brady is retired. Unless he isn't. In recent days, a sense has emerged that he specifically has retired from the Buccaneers, and that he'd perhaps like to play somewhere else.

If that's the case, Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians won't be inclined to facilitate any such attempt.

"Nope," Arians told reporters at the Scouting Combine on Tuesday, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. "Bad business."

Asked what it would take to get Brady, Arians said, "Five No. 1's."

Bruce Arians is a POS if he's that serious. He wouldn't have a SB ring if it wasn't for Brady

I don't think BA is really in touch with Brady, he was sure that Brady wouldn't retire, and now he is sure that Brady will stay retired.
I also don't think BA will have any input if Brady asks to be traded. He'll go direct to the Glazers and asks for it.

The whole Brady situation is getting messier. He never shuts the door.

The big difference maker is that GB didn't give up 3 first round picks for Rodgers. They could afford to wait.

Maybe but it's still unlikely it will happen.

And they had a HOF calibre QB. This is Jimmy G we are replacing. a QB who might be the 18th best starter in the league.

And BA and GM Jason Licht will also go to the Glazers and make their case for trying to get as much as they possibly can for TB12s rights.

Teams cannot normalize players "retiring" then wanting to come out of "retirement" to play for another team weeks or months later and those rights being sold off for pennies on the dollar. If Tom wishes to play elsewhere this year then Tampa has to do what is best for their business not what is best for Tom and seek to get as much as they can to let him go.

I agree but it's annoying to hear it. We gotta let trey play.

we did. I didn't see anything super spectacular. Let Brady cook one last time. Trey can learn from Tom. No biggie.
