Most of the talk has been about the 49ers acquiring Brady. No crow to eat in that regard.
So now the 49ers will have to face a top tier QB in at least 9 games next this coming season. Plus they face Justin Fields who may take a big step and Matt Ryan who's still pretty good.

Ya but it was obvious click bait stuff, and some of the Trey haters kept using this as proof that we don't want Trey. Of course they are silent now when their trolling failed once again

I don't think anyone is a Trey hater. Some fans feel that the team is ready to win now with a loaded roster. There is no doubt that Trey will be playing with a learning curve. The question is (and what divides fans) what side of the curve he ends up on. Based on his lack of reps, and limited college resume, my OPINION is that he will likely take more lumps than come out and play like Mahomes did. And that could make us come up 3rd in the division outside the playoffs looking in. Therefore, if somehow we could have gotten Brady or Rodgers…it would have been a perfect scenario. Was it likely ? Nope. But Brady (more so than Rodgers) has clout, and he wanted out of TB to play for SF I suspect he could make it happen regardless of what his dope coach says…

Oh well, looks like I got it wrong I admit.

This is very disappointing. I guess I was just being too nice and in the end it just goes to show my trust in Lynch and Shanahan have been misplaced. I cannot believe they would double-down on a Super Bowl mistake. Or may be Shanahan did try, but it could well be his arrogance was just too much to coexist with Tommy's brilliance.

Another year with any hope for the 6th dashed.

Well, let's hope Trey Lance will work out in a couple of years down the road I suppose.

Hopefully, one day Tom would write a book and spill the beans on what actually went down between him, Shanahan and Lynch. Is obvious he would do just about anything to play for the 9ers, the question is why wasn't Shanahan and Lynch able to seal the deal? To me, there is no excuse for not signing Tom in 2020, let alone 2022. My guess is they simply didn't have the guts to change the plan to sit Lance for another year after giving up 3 x 1st round picks to draft him even though they know deep down they already cocked it up once by not signing Tom two years ago. It takes a lot of balls for the corporate types to do the right thing instead of just protecting his or her job. Just too bad, Shanahan and Lynch chose the latter. On this point, I still have to say I tip my hat to the Rams for flushing down the investment placed on Goff and then to pile in more picks to trade for Matthew Stafford. And true enough, it worked and they lifted the Lombardi right away. Respect.

Have a good season, folks.

Agreed wholeheartedly

You guys must have the missed the fact that he wasn't a Free Agent and still under contract with the Bucs. Arians just said last week that it'd take "5 1st round picks" to Al secure his services.

These guys would rather be negative, deaf and blind then understand the situation.

If she wouldn't have asked Tom multiple times to take the trash out he'd probably still be retired.

LOL, you can't actually believe Arians has any control over where/when Tom Brady plays right? Tom Brady restructured his original 2 year contract to 3 years in an effort to save the Bucs salary cap space. His commitment to them was always 2 years only. And he delivered a SB win. He simply had to ask the Glazers for an outright release and they would be obligated to give it to him if he wanted. You don't disrespect a request from a player like Brady especially when he already won you a SB.

My guess is he wanted to come in 2020, Lynch/Shanahan said no, and now he doesn't care to play with us anymore. If we find out he wanted to come back to the 49ers in 2022 and we said no again, that's going to be one of the biggest black eyes on this franchise.

FWIW I have full faith in Trey Lance being an absolute stud this year and possibly taking the league by storm and winning us #6.

Glad to see you open up and explain yourself. I do understand you and your opinion more now. Your 100% correct that it's an opinion right now that is dividing fans.

I am fine with those lumps, as long as the kid plays better then Crappollo did last year. Play better and we will be fine.

Yea no worries. If the defense is better, and Trey plays game manager this year (given Kyle's style, he probably will), this team may still be a viable contender. I just don't think he will be anything beyond a game manager at best and in the short run we won't win number 6. I hope he becomes a legitimate franchise quarterback for us at some point, but at what cost ? Would hate to see veterans like Trent Williams and George Kittle lose out on a ring (like Gore did) while we wait for Lance to prove his worth…
The guy really hates being home.
Someone probably tweeted at TB12 that he couldn't play til 50 and he took it personal.

People down here still think the "retirement" was to force a trade to SF, but TB called his bluff, so he came back tail between legs.
