Tom Brady, QB retires again

If Brock's injury wasn't so serious I would have been against bringing Brady to SF but now they are going to need an experienced QB. Brady would have way more weapons here than he has in Tampa. It really depends on how much he would cost. He's made enough money that he could afford to play for the minimum and defer the rest . One thing is certain. They can't go into next season with Trey coming off injury and nobody else.

With our luck at QB we would sign Brady and he would either get hurt or it would be the year his age catches up and he falls off a cliff. Pass for me

Context matters. If Brady was in a great situation in Tampa this past season, with a well schemed offense, a quality run game, quality blocking and a good HC and looked the same, I'd say that maybe he's taken a few steps back and isn't worth it but really the guy was standing in the middle of a burning dumpster fire trying to put it out with a squirter gun.
I don't think he suddenly fell off after two excellent seasons. He's not prime Brady but still good enough with the right roster. I also expect him to be highly motivated considering how the season ended for him and the return of the "but seriously guys, Brady is finished" talk from 2019.

With that logic, there's no reason to keep any QBs on the roster period.

Yeah except "that logic" only applies to one QB in the history of the game to be playing at 46 years old. You must've missed that part of what I wrote unless you think age will catch up to QBs in their 20's?

He's the greatest player in the history of pro football. At 43 he won a SB. At 44 he was ranked first by fellow players in NFL. At 45 he set NFL records. Even if the wheels do fall off, this can still work, look at Peyton's final season they won the SB. Brady would be a coach out on the field. He knows pre and post snap everything that is going on. Think of him checking at LOS based on the look he would be doing that all season to great effect with our KS run game.

I don't think him and Kyle would mesh to be honest. You guys forgetting that Kyle has already passed on him?

I have posted that and feel KS may not be in.. but it shouldn't be his decision he should have zero input. JL is GM. Let him makes the calls. JL respects winners and TB just played in Tampa, where JL is a member of the Ring of Pirates. I am sure they know each other well (JL and TB12).
KS will be fine he's a great coach who put together offenses for 4 QBs this year on the fly. Pretty sure he can cook up some plays for the greatest QB of all time.

The way Kyle positions his QB's to get hammered by the defense I seriously doubt a 46 year-old guy will last the entire season in his offense.
That said, if Brady comes at a discount price I am not going to talk s**t if we do sign him. If he became a Niner I would embrace him and root for him as such.

Might as well bring back TO, and make next season "The 49ers Golden years".

Kyle passed on him when they had Garoppolo coming off a SB appearance snd the 49ers scouts were telling him that Brady was washed. If Kyle can't set his own ego aside to make a pitch to the guy at least, he probably shouldn't be HC.

The combo of run game and weapons would be scary with Brady being the triggerman. We don't pay much attention to Tampa, but they were completely one dimensional this season. They couldn't run the ball, historically bad rushing

Brady won a SB playing for Bruce Arians, known for running a QB killing offense. Big Ben got sacked over 200 times with Arians as his OC. Carson Palmer missed playoff games due to the beating he was taking. He's basically another Mike Martz.
If Brady could make survive that offense, he'd make it work in Kyle's.

You can't be serious. The relationship between the QB and the HC/OC is the most important of the entire team.

This is one of the problems. It's no secret that Kyle has an ego on him. Dude couldn't even set his own ego aside to look at QBs in a draft where we held the #2 overall pick and needed a QB because he had his heart set on Cousins Lynch made sure to tell the world about that one and how he told Kyle that maybe he should look at Mahomes; Kyle didn't listen
Sorry but I just don't see the fit. Brady in his elder years has definitely become more vocal, rebellious and a little bit of a diva IMO, I think him and Kyle would be toxic and it would have an effect on the locker room. Hey if we do sign him at a reasonable price then I'm all for it and for sure will root for it to succeed but I just don't see it.
