Alex making a fool of himself lol
Nick Wagoner ESPN article about Purdy confirms what many of us here were thinking - 49ers planned to go after Brady this past offseason if he didn't retire.

Bill Belichick looking at the title and taking it personal.

Makes sense if the team had no clue how well Brock Purdy would recover from his elbow injury that they would kick the tires on Brady.

It was hilarious. Is NFL 2020 that different from NFL 2023?

I hope Brock is making a similar video 20 years from now.

So they signed Darnold instead.

As they should have. Purdy was coming off a major injury and Brady was still playing at a high enough level that he easily would have been the best option to be ready to go Week 1.

Yeesh. ... They may have faith in Darnold inside the building, always happy to be proven wrong, but I don't share that faith.

Brady as starter and Darnold as backup are two very different signings.
