True. I don't know man maybe I'm just still pissed off from the playoffs. I just want something done to get the ball in Kittles hands more like how Deebo was made a RB to accomplish that. Kittle is too much of a stud to be wasted pass blocking all the time. Just my opinion

I don't think you'll find one person who doesn't want Kittle to get as many targets as Kelce. I want to see him have another Bronco game with 1 additional yard. But I don't think its Kyle deliberately stopping him. It's our weak pass protection and Kittle being such an amazing teammate he did help a lot in blocking. And Kyle understood to win games he would have to sacrifice one of his best weapons in the passing game to help protect the QB.

Go ask the QB why he wasn't throwing him the ball

Was any reason given for the team asking him to take a 60% pay cut, assuming that was true. The team isn't cheap. They pay coaches and front office people well. There must be a reason they would ask him and not other coaches to take a cut. Or did they ask others as well.

Maybe he was massively over paid and wasn't very good at his job? Who knows

If the paycut part is true then my guess would be that they were stripping him of his assistant head coach designation or asking him to take a lesser role on the coaching staff. So he was getting demoted and being offered lesser pay as a result.

Id rather ask the coach why.

Yeah you're right, that's the only explanation

I honestly don't think this has anything to do with racism. I'm with you, I think they wanna go a different direction in terms of Assist. HC. I've been calling for a strong Assist. HC for some time so that Shanny can concentrate more on the offence. I've long held that Shanny, while a brilliant offensive mind, play caller and play designer, isn't a complete HC. I really think Shanny should hire a respected guy with HC experience to be the Assist. HC.

Assistant HC is a largely meaningless title. Its usually given to an experienced assistant as an honorarium but its like saying assistant to the regional manager. It has zero reflection on the HC's overall responsibilities.

I think this is entirely about moving in a different direction in terms of coaching the TE's.

There might be a coach out there who is suddenly available that Shanahan thinks could be an upgrade or he just felt that Embree wasn't cutting the mustard, eitherway its his prerogative to move on.

"NBC Sports Bay Area could not independently confirm the financial negotiations, but it is believed Embree was working on a one-year contract last season with the 49ers."

So his contract was up. What's to say he didn't demand a 60% raise and that's where that number comes from? Really curious what the real truth is here.

Kittle having to constantly block DEs and LBs took a toll on him physically. Yesterday he said he had been hurting since game 1 this year. I have to believe that running more routes and throwing his body at fewer 300 pounders is going to extend his career. Bring in a new OL coach who can teach McGlinchey how to pass block and...problem solved.

SF was damn near last in passing attempts this yr, so I wouldn't expect him to have as many route snaps as guys like Kelce and Pitts.

McG actually graded out just fine as a pass-blocker this yr. He wasn't elite but 70 overall is pretty good. How he recovers from his injury will be the issue. Our RG issue is the problem more than anything.

Good catch. I had intended to include I was responding to a common lament that he is not good. I think he might have been playing injured more than he let on and he was not moving as well in the run game as in the past.

I think that is the case and might be why Ryans decided to stay at SF as the asst head coach/defensive coordinator. Just a guess.

He's hurting because tacklers know they have to go low to get him down.

60% is a joke

They made an offer, he didn't accept. Clearly he feels that he'll earn more elsewhere, more power to him. Hopefully the 49ers can replace him with a TE coach that can get something out of someone besides Kittle.
Solomon Wilcots is being disingenuous. Embree wasnt fired.

Jon Embree, the 49ers' tight ends coach and assistant head coach whom George Kittle has often credited for his development from a late-round pick to first-team All-Pro, will not return to the team next season.

Embree, 56, who was on a one-year contract in 2021, declined to accept a significant pay cut to come back for a sixth season, a source said.

Embree joined the 49ers shortly after head coach Kyle Shanahan was hired in 2017. He previously worked with Shanahan, then an offensive coordinator, with Washington in 2010. The 13-year NFL veteran was also the head coach at Colorado in 2010-11.
