If he's the generational talent that he's supposed to be then theres no way you trade that first pick. Personally I think hes Kyler Murray and mostly hype

Im in the same boat.

I personally wouldn't trade that for Patrick Mahomes if I'm being honest

Problem is.....You dont know if he is going to be Mahomes. There are plenty of star college QBs that go bust. Mahomes was a second rd graded prospect.

Which is why if i'm the Bears I wouldn't have hesitated. I'm not a Williams fan to begin with. If he is better than Jayden Daniels I guarantee you he isn't 2 1st round picks better. That's an insane offer if true.
Jaguars just extended Josh Allen. Hope they're not opening cap space for a trade.

I would take Daniels and two firsts in 2025 and 2026 all day long. William's mental toughness in question is not good. I would hazard a guess that is the most unpredictable part of drafting a QB. The mentality of the player.

The Bears can't afford to not take him. He may not end up great but they have to try. They haven't had a top level QB since 1945. Everyone else they've had has been a stop gap or complete failure. Hard to believe a team like the Bears from a great sports town like Chicago can't find a good QB.

I'd take McCarthy and the 2025 and 2026 1st rounders as well. Heck Penix surprisingly was the most athletic testing QB after his pro day. 4.53 forty, 36.5 vert, 10.5 broad. That's pretty insane considering his laser accurate laser spirals.

Cant afford to miss..... not take a player because everyone else thinks so. The draft is a hype machine. You have to navigate it

Lol the Jags always had enough cap space to sign Aiyuk to an extension and also give Josh Allen one too.

This is what I have been talking about. The top of the draft is more highly regarded than those picks are actually worth. I mean this pick literally came from Carolina, a team that moved up to pick 1 last year, took what appears to be as of now a dud, and lost this #1 pick C Williams pick, which is now worth a fortune.

It really is roulette with a QB, but almost everyone needs one so this is how it goes.

Personally I don't think Caleb is anything amazing, no more than Fields tbh. Maybe marginally better?

Not to mention I'm not convinced Caleb really wants to play in Chicago. While I wouldn't let that be the deciding factor it is something I think they should seriously consider in the equation.

Seriously? That is stupid. Do that trade and take Harrison jr. or dangle him to the Cards and step back again. Now looking at #4 and #9 to get your young QB a talented OL/weapon or go get a QB you like end of 1st.
You can dangle #2 to the Vikings for their QB choice.
#5 from LAC for Harrison jr.

The sheer amount of bites at talent they can get is insane. The Commanders' '25 pick will likely be a top 10 again, maybe even both. And bring in a rookie QB with no reliable talent or protection, will likely be a failure.
I might be on board if it was JUST next years 1st, throw in '26 2nd and i am calling the trade in.
