These WR contracts are out of control. This shows you need to draft WR's every year. Let them play out their rookie contracts and let them walk and draft more. Better yet, Trade them 1 year before they become a free agent. Only the premium positions you should pay market value.

All the contracts are getting crazy. Players at postions other than QB and WR are asking for more and more too. It reminds me of a movie (And Justice For All) where AlPacino is a lawyer and he starts yelling in court. "You're out of order. You're out of order. The whole trial is out of order." That's the way I feel about the salaries in sports.

There was a reason he had not signed before now. FWIW, PFF ranked him #92 of 119 Edge Defenders - just 6 spots above e Sam O. IOW, he's not been very good.

Free agency is more than just one party. We could offer his $10m per year and if he doesn't want to play here, then he won't. Want to play on a team that has won 2 Super Bowls in the last 10 years or one that has lost 2 and on a defensive reset at best?

That's what happens when the salary cap goes up and the NFL profits keep rising. These guys should be paid what they are worth, now the general public wages need to go up as well. Hard to understand how a athlete who can throw or catch a ball makes more or the same as a person who can put a different heart in someones chest.
