I will admit that Geno isn't great. But I also know he played his best ball under Petey. Carroll played to Geno's strengths. He does have a few. The moment Petey got whacked from Seattle, Smith flopped. I expect the Seahawks coach, whatever his name is, to get booted at the end of the upcoming season. He's horrible. Which means the GM will also get canned, since he orchestrated Petey's removal.

Pete Carroll represents the best coaching hire the Raiders have made since they left Oakland. He is a proven winner. He can win again.

I think it's branding, if you're an owner you don't want your team to go 2-15 sales/tickets go down while fans get embarrassed wearing jerseys and merch which is almost like free advertising. I agree with what you say though
