The it factor.

And ofcourse he has all the physical tools. He just needs to play.

Doesn't mean that will translate to him being a great QB though.

No but I want to find out.

Deshaun for Trey Lance in a heartbeat without a second thought

this only can happen if you don't want to resign Bosa or Deebo. so Lance and which one "in a heartbeat without a second thought"?

But for now let's assume Kyle knew what he was doing until proven otherwise in a couple of years. Not going to compare him to Watson but I think stud factor is coming within a year or so of play time.

Wouldn't we be able to re-sign them both? Restructuring contracts, get rid off JG, that should help.

Yeah if having an expensive QB means we can't have Nick and Deebo then I guess Lance will be gone in 4 years

I hope so. I'm excited to see how Lance turns out too. Hopefully he doesn't make us regret passing up the opportunity of trading for a stud QB.

no. this is the versatility a QB on a rookie contract brings. Deshaun Watson's contract is $40M in 2022 and $42M in 2023.
Titans plan to release Julio Jones

Watson is a heck of a QB but it's a hard pass on him for me, especially with regards to the Niners situation. He clearly has some character concerns and I don't want to go down the Rueben Foster road again, especially at the most critical position in football, QB. Lance has everything you can ask for in a QB, he just needs to play. He also has a great contract that benefits the rest of the team tremendously. I look forward to watching him develop even if it were to cost us a trip to the playoffs next year, which I don't think it will.

Foster and Watson are not comparable. If Watson wasn't trying to force his way the Texans, then the Texans wouldn't have exposed his life. you and everyone else wouldn't have known.. just like we don't know what our 49ers are doing off the clock

Remember Randy Moss to SF. Sounds a lot more exciting on paper than it was on the field. Sometimes legends become washed.

Right. I wouldn't pay anything substantial upfront, but I would support providing him the avenue to earn extra money via incentives.

Explain to me how they aren't comparable? Foster made several poor life decisions that derailed his career and he has never gotten back to the promise he once showed. Watson has also made some poor life decisions that have derailed his career at least momentarily. I'm guessing Watson gets back on track unlike Foster but who knows, maybe he doesn't. Foster was also expected to be the leader of the defense much like how Watson is expected to be the leader of the offense.

And there is also a very good chance that Watson's actions off the field would have came to light at some point. When you are that high profile, and you start making questionable choices, you have a LARGE target on your back. All it takes is one person to expose you and then the snowball effect begins.
