At least we dodged the Hard Knocks bullet. It's gonna be Detroit. Let's hope they aren't a real slapd**k team this year.

We didn't qualify this year. It was between Lions, Panthers and Jets.

Why didn't the 9ers qualify??

NFL placed qualifiers years ago. From Google.

Those stipulation are: Teams with a first-year head coach. Teams who have made the playoffs in at least one of the past two years. Teams who have been on "Hard Knocks" in the past 10 years.
...
That leaves just three teams eligible to be forced into the docuseries:
Detroit Lions.
New York Jets.
Carolina Panthers.

Oh I only thought it was teams with first year head coaches. I didn't know about teams who have made the playoffs. I wonder why that matters?? The 49ers try to avoid this anyway they can and treat it like a punishment it seems. Sucks cause I would love to see them on Hard knocks.

Teams after first few seasons complained it's a distraction and fought to get out of it. These are the reasons NFL agreed with.

last year was the first year of In-season hard knocks.. i wonder what the rules apply to that show.. maybe the same
About damn time. I think they should make it so the game keeps going as long as both teams score until one of them is stopped, but hey, that's just my opinion.

Games need to have an ending, and players can only play so many plays in a game.

I like just adding another quarter. Do what basketball and baseball do where the game just continues going.

The new OT I believe will force the first team to score to go for a 2 point conversion.
Why just for post season? A team can still get screwed in regular season and that could cost them a playoff spot. How much would it hurt players to have the rule in effect for the regular season as well. There aren't enough OT games to wear out the players.

NFLPA will f**king cry victim if it was all season long. Acting like OT is frequently happening

It should be for the regular season as well. At least this is a step in the right direction.

If it's the Titans rule change the 2 point conversion is to cause a sudden death effect. They can score and kick a field goal if they want to go conservative if they have a solid D

The problem with sudden death is the strat gets all stupid. As soon as a team gets in FG range they get conservative af. Play for the 3. Not exactly the most exciting football. The problem with current OT is as we saw in Chiefs / Bills. Josh Allen played as much a role as I did in that OT. Chiefs couldn't stop him but coin toss did.

If only a football league had an enthralling, quick OT with no chance of a tie with dual possession.

Not a fan, I preferred the sudden death, next score wins rule
An extra 10 minutes each way period with one time out per team. Then if the scores are still level it's a draw. Some things in life are a draw.

That will be after both teams have had their initial possession, is my understanding. If both teams still tied (0, FG, or TD), it switch to sudden death.
