Yeah pretty cheap considering the guys they are tasked to stopped are making 25+. And it's not a leap to say it's much more difficult to be a CB than a WR.

more difficult because of the rules, which is why I value corner less. If your pass rush is better you don't need a lock down corner you just need someone to hold steady. instead of paying a top 5 corner 20m, 2 corners in the 20th rank range would cost about the same

Totally agree with this. All of this.

These are the guys that are supposed to stop the WRs making $25 or $30 million per year. It won't be long before the long snapper will be wanting $10 million.

Both CB and WR are skill positions, why shouldn't they command top dollar?? CB's run half of the field on some plays while a DE plays within 5 yards, has one man to beat and earns a contract not much less than a QB. Tell me why should CB's make less??

I think Clements was 10m a year (8 years at 80m) back in 2007 when salary cap was a little over $100m. Now the cb's are getting $20m with the salary cap a little over $200m. Rough math, but it checks out.

Clements was not worth it due to his lack of coverage skills but ghawd damn was he good in run support. Probably the best run support corner I've even seen. Should have played LB tbh.
