It's a waste. Why would anyone pay for a ticket to watch that….

About having the two worst teams come back after a 3 week layoff to play for the first overall pick - what is the motivation for the players to compete hard for this? Especially the players that are pending free agents and may not be with the team the following year? Why crack their skulls for a game where the benefit of winning the game (first overall pick) may not benefit them?
Not to mention some bad teams (Jags) fired their coach so there's a new coaching staff in place and they have 2 weeks to meet the roster and prepare?

Could you imagine missing out on Andrew Luck cause Curtis Painter didn't want them drafting his best friends replacement.

I say get rid of the whole thing. Game is a joke and they should be embarrassed about it. Skills comps are a joke (see Tyreek Hill not trying). What's the point of any of it?

I've totally thought this as well. The players have ZERO reason/motivation to play this game. It's a fun idea but not viable.

I had my suggestion in some other thread reposting here. I'd combine the Pro Bowl with the Senior Bowl. It would be NFL rookies vs draft eligible team of all stars. Imagine some college all star team vs Trey Lance throwing to Devonta Smith. Each club could send two rookies. Pros would get a share of the game take as a bonus college players get a showcase game to up their draft stock. I would watch.

- NFL Pick 'em
Just cancel the game and the activities. Fly the players out to Hawaii and have the award show. Make it a paid vacation to the players that earned the pro bowl nod.

They used t have the college All Star Game where the college all stars played the NFL champion. They dropped it after they started playing the SB. It wasn't very competitive. It was cancelled after the 1974 season. The NFL had won 16 of the previous 17 games.

Yeah it would be a nod to that
One thing about that it was the NFL Champ vs a bunch of 20-22 year olds. This would be rookies vs college draft eligibles so maybe 1 year between them rather than a big age gap. Could make it more competitive but likely edge to the NFL guys. Trey would probably run circles around college players even all stars but would be fun to watch that.

College players opt out of bowl games. I doubt they would sign up to play in a all state game. I think the pro bowl needs to be dumped all together. It gives players like Andy Dalton something to bring up when he demands more money after he's the 4th alternate

Some drop of out bowl games I imagine some wouldn't sign up for this but out of hundreds of draft eligible I imagine you would get enough to fill a squad. Imagine recording a couple sacks vs NFL players or getting a couple touchdowns. Could vault people up the draft boards.

We have the Shrine bowl and senior bowl for those players

The skills competitions is probably the most interesting thing about Pro Bowl week, but it only works for the skill position players (QB/RB/WR/TE). What skills competitions are there for DL/OL/LB/DB? No idea. I'm just glad there were no injuries outside of Kamara going full on thug life mode.

Do you watch the shrine bowl and/or senior bowl? If Trey Lance and Eli Mitchell are out there I'm watching. Mac Jones, Lawrence, Lance and Fields could all play a quarter. Would be fascinating.

I liked the dodgeball game I saw a few years ago that was fun. The skill competition is cool but I wouldn't miss it. The game itself needs to be gone though. I can't imagine the NFL even makes that much money off ticket sales.
