Rigged!!!

I wish everyone who claims the NFL is rigged would just stop watching the NFL. Why are you watching it?

So the chiefs received a TON of breaks this season. Some Sketch A F. Some just whatever.

-Hamlin game canceled pretty much GIVING the Chiefs the first seed.
-Merhomes flopped his way to a penalty giving a ez field goal vs the Bengals. Justified but still lame.
-Bradberry ghost holding call to end the super bowl.

The Eagles made some big mistakes that affected the outcome of the game, and that was the correct call towards the end of game.

The better team won at the end of the day.

The received a lot of help from the league front office. As per usual. No question who is the golden boy of marketing for the NFL. Who they want to promote. Who they want to win.

It would never be rigged cuz it involves too many ppl. Commish would have to be in with league office and refs. Too many ppl would have access to the scheme and it would be leaked / revealed. Owners league wide could sue the league into oblivion, as would fans who made wagers on rigged games, bought tix for rigged games, etc.

The league is an enormous cash cow just as it is with some bad calls, they don't need to rig anything and we all watch, the risk of rigging is high and the reward is zero it's already watched by so many ppl, just leave it alone, that's why you know it's not rigged.

It's not rigged in some grand conspiracy way with people meeting in an under ground bunker smoke filled room. But biases come into play. If refs believe Mahomes is the best bias leans that way on calls. Even if subconsciously. That's all the rigging you need. They don't even know they are doing it. But they definitely favor Mahomes and the Chiefs and it's deeply unfair. Makes it even harder to win against them. Just like the push off on Kittle on the Super Bowl which wasn't much of a push off and almost never gets called. Certainly not in the big game. They always bias toward KC. There is favoritism there.

This is true this is known as the stars get the calls and exists in all sports particularly NBA, part of it is they are so good you have to foul to stop them, but there is some truth I think the refs assume if he didn't score it must be cuz he was fouled, we've all seen star receivers ask for the flag and get it also, some bottom of the roster receiver can ask for the flag and get nothing lol

Yeah I agree. That's true. It should be fair and even handed. Not favoritism.

THIS! Anyone who thinks the NFL fixes games for a certain outcome is just stupid. If that came out it would be the end of the league.

How funny is it that the 1st page of this thread is nearly identical to what's being said about last night's game? Only the names have changed.

If that was Aiyuk that got held and the call wasn't made, Niners fans would be screaming. Imagine if they actually had a rule that said no fouls would be called in the last 2 minutes. It would be chaos. This was an officiating crew that usually calls a lot of PI and holding. They let them play the entire game instead of blowing the whistle all the time. They made a call that was close but it was the right call at a critical point in the game. If they don't make it then the Chiefs fans are complaining.

Remember that the call gave the Chiefs a first down . They could have gone for the TD instead of the FG and forced the Eagles to go the length of the field with no timeouts.

Did you not watch the Super Bowl against the Ravens?

The refs made a conscious decision that they weren't going to throw any flags in the final 2 minutes. That's why there was no call for holding or PI on Crabtree despite being late hit, held, interfered with on 3 consecutive plays by the Ravens DBs.

Then, once the 49ers turned the ball over and the Ravens had it inside their own 5 yard line, the Ravens elected to take a safety on 4th down. What did they do? John Harbaugh instructed the entire offensive line to hold on purpose in an effort to waste more time. A genius strategy by John Harbaugh because they knew more time off the clock was more important than the 2 points they were conceding anyway. What did the refs do? Inexplicably, despite the Ravens holding on purpose, the refs still didn't throw a flag. ESPN even wrote an article about this a few years after the SB.

We are always on the bad end of a huge officiating gaffe, miscall, mistake, whatever. Need to blow opponents out, that's the only way to ensure you won't get f**ked by refs in today's NFL.
