RB is a need. It's also the easiest position to scout (unless you're Kyle Shanahan) and find in later rounds. Dime a dozen and we're spending our precious day 2 picks on one.

An interesting name to monitor at the RB position in the 2022 NFL Draft. pic.twitter.com/SMhyXz0j6Z
Pre-Draft AnalysisDavis-Price has an impressive combination of size, agility and top-end speed. He's quick, makes sharp cuts without losing momentum and gets better with each carry. He gets impatient at times and ball security has been an issue. Davis-Price's ball skills are inconsistent, and he's average in pass protection. -- Steve Muench
Love that ball security and pass pro has been an issue.

He runs upright. Needs to get his pads lower.

Pass pro comes with snaps, with his size and athletic ability, it shouldn't be an issue. Ball security is a whole other matter, we'll see how that goes.

Welp, since Mitchell was so good last year they figured this year they'll just take their late round RB early this time around

I have no problem with going RB high. Just didn't think we needed to draft him that high with other RBs on the board that fit our scheme better.
Kirby Joseph or Nick Cross would have been nice :/

Like Sermon did last year? Deebo was playing RB so much last year because of his SPEED - Something we lost when Mostert went down. I scratch my head how Shanny can have such a great scheme, but struggle so much with drafting scheme fits.

Im watching some highlights and my god
Big back with power and speed who likes to run guys over but whats really impressive is his vision. Thats hard to teach
Apparently he has bad hands and ball security issues but i see why shanny would like him

The usual Shanny draft screw-up.

Look at who they were interviewing and checking out predraft... we all knew this was coming. It was either defensive players or RBs and they are showing Deebo that he wont have to be our power back.

Why another RB? I don't understand.
Mitchell missed 6 games as a rookie. Sermon also missed time and didn't really show anything when he was healthy. They were having to run Deebo pretty heavy because they lacked healthy RB's late last season. I don't think its great value but he's definitely going to get the opportunity to play and if he does well, there will be a ton of snaps for him.
We just picked Trey Sermon last year in the 3rd round. We have other bigger needs IMO.

Pretty clear that Sermon is a bust at this point. Kyle doesn't like any of our RBs besides maybe Mitchell
