Well if Scattebo is it, I hope he's not a one game wonder and lives up to the goo goo and gah gahs over him.

One game wonder? Skattebo?!
TBH I never heard of the young man until the senior bowl. Of course I'm in SEC country.
You guys act like we just traded Walter Payton. Mason is as brittle as grandma's bone china, can't block and can't catch the ball out of the backfield. No way the 49ers were paying him 5.3 million. The rebuild continues with more draft ammunition.
This is so discouraging. When I saw the headlines, I immediately assumed it was a 2nd round pick. A 6th, really? Mason was one of the top rushers in the NFL before he got hurt.

It feels like the FO is just rolling over for whatever they can get.

Yeah we all know how good the 49ers are at drafting RB's everyone Kyle picks is a winner.

6th round to UDFA, undefeated. 4th round or earlier, historic loser. Lmao

we can find guys though or even sign a vet cheap. RBs are dime a dozen and unless we get a ton of injuries again, we will be fine.

Problem with Mason was that he would have 3- one yard gains and then get 8 on a run to make his average look good.

problem with that is after those first 3 one yard gains, it's fourth down and drive is over. He has some talent for sure but I won't miss him.

We'd probably struggle to trade CMC for a 2nd round pick right now.

UDFA. Kyle and the 49ers have always had a hard time drafting a good RB.

So the same front office and coaching staff brought in the guy you're now complaining that they won't be able to replace?

I get both sides of it. The people who are critical zero in on Joe Williams, Trey Sermon, and Ty Davis-Price while overlooking guys like Matt Brieda, Elijah Mitchell, JP Mason, and Isaac Guerendo. That first group were 3/4th round picks, so I understand their position. Honestly both stances have merit.

How many random RBs playing in a Shanahan offense has that applied to? No one was going to give up a lot for him. In Minnesota he'll be part of a RB tandem with Aaron Jones and not a feature back.

Lynch and Shanahan are getting stupider by the day! We don't know if CMC comes back 100%, so lets go ahead and trade our #2 RB who led the NFL in rushing the first part of last season for a f*cking 6th round pick? What the hell? Why do you put a 2nd round tender on a guy, and then give him away for a 6th? Mason was the best guy at moving the chains last year, had the best YPC. He's a great complement to the team when Shanahan would let him play. This is penny wise and pound foolish! They don't save that much to give Mason away. Either Lynch and Shanahan have been totally castrated by Jed York, or they've turned into the biggest f*cktards in the NFL this offseason. Oh, and BTW, still no OL or DL signings after all the departues. WTF!!!

Are you new to football?
Just wait til next week and when we trade to get Mason back for a 3rd.
We basically used what we were going to pay to bring back Juice. That's a win IMO

I think they struggle when they try to force the issue. Sermon was an ill fitting back that was part of the weird Lance shakeup where Kyle seemingly lost his mind. Williams was off the draft board altogether until Kyle begged to put him back on there. I think if they just stay away from drafting RBs before the 4th round, they'll be okay.
I knew this guy wasn't long for the team when he doubted whether he could maintain the workload as the primary back after week 1. WEEK 1. I believe his exact words in the post-game interview were "I don't know how CMC does this."

Then he got hurt and tried to avoid contact as much as possible.
