The trade is stupid. For a team that likes to pound the rock and has CMC coming off major surgeries, this is asking for trouble. CMC better show up healthy and not injured like in 2024. What a f**king disaster.

Makes the Juice signing even more aggravating.

Outside of CMC, our best RBs have been

Matt Breida
Jeff Wilson
Elijah Mitchell
Jordan Mason

Where were those guys drafted? We'll be fine.

Then trade CMC and his 19 million dollars. Why pay him that kind of money at his age and injury history.

They just might.

So Mason was too expensive at 5 million, but we'll 5 million for another receiver, pay 34 year old Juice 4 million. We can pay 7 million for a backup TE.

I just don't like the move. I guess Kyle doesn't like something about Mason. Maybe doesn't think he's a good enough receiver, but CMC's career is almost over and I don't think Gurrendo is the one...

$5.25M for one yr FGTD. That other WR/FB will be on the field much more. That TE was signed for 3yrs…not one yr of play. Comparing those contracts isn't equal.

no kyle knows this draft is stocked with really really good RBs that's rookie contract will cost the same over the life of their deal vs one yr of Mason.

Then trade CMC

No-one can do what CMC does. He's
not just a RB.

That's a big reason why we traded Mason. When he was the back it was guaranteed it would be a run because he can't run routes.

CMC will be in the infirmary by week4.

Emotional overreaction.

CMC played in every game in 2022 and 2023. It's too early to start making assumptions about his health for this upcoming season.

Agreed.
CMC could be very fresh going into next year. Guerendo, Taylor, and another rookie is a great RB room

Injury history? INJURY HISTORY? What history do you speak of? CMC came to the 49ers via trade and BALLED OUT. First year was GREAT. Second year? AWESOME. 49ers rode CMC's leg to the Super Bowl. No injuries. None. Nada. Zippo.

Last season he got hurt. Never fully returned. That is ONE INJURY. Not an "injury history."

Jordan Mason was never going to be "the guy." Ever. When he finally got his chance to be "the guy," he got hurt. Early. Never the same after that. Love Jordan, but Kyle signs young RB's and develops them. Always has. Always will.

Jordan was an UDFA in 2022 and did not see any significant playing time till 2024. So yeah any RB can pick up this offense and just plug and play. (not serious)

31 and coming off an achilles in both legs and knee surgery. What was his injury history with Panthers?

Shany will run CMC into the ground in 2025 which will not take long.

And Mason by week 5.

So no injury history with the Panthers?

He had 258 yards rushing as a rookie. They trusted him enough that they traded away Jeff Wilson to Miami that season.

If you're expecting a rookie to come in, take the main workload over McCaffrey and Guerendo, that isn't happening.

Great point.

Add to that, Kyle has a long history of starting rookies….(not serious either)

Depends on the rookie. What if Jeanty is the pick? He could do exactly that. It would be a pick most 49ers fans hate, but he'd fit Kyle offense very well and does a lot of the things CMC does.
