Just thinking. A chance there? No chance? Stop thinking?
Points allowed by the Jets D in 2020 was 457 under Adam Gase (point differential was 214)
In his first year (2021) the Jets allowed 504 points but improved the differential 194.
This year to date the D has allowed 282 points and a differential of 2. They are 5th overall in total D after being dead last the year prior. That is a drastic improvement as he is starting to get his pieces in place for that D.
Would be a bad idea to fire him. Instead, he and Douglas need to figure out the QB position and IMHO Saleh has earned more time as the HC.
Absolutely. How can anyone be thinking to fire Saleh at this point? It's clear as day what the problem with that team is. What probably hurts is having to potentially draft a QB two years later- but it may be better to rip off the bandaid now and get it done.

Saleh has definitely earned more time, and I agree - that defense is legitimately top five. Any kind of half-way decent QB play and the Jets are a playoff team. They are in a quandary, however, as it looks like they just wasted a #2 pick overall.
Easy band aid solution is obviously Jimmy G but they need a long term solution at QB. Maybe Lamar hits the market and they make a play, otherwise it's looking like back to scouting the QB prospects in the next draft class.
I don't think Baltimore lets Jackson hit the open market, but we'll see. There's a reason why many of these QBs get paid, even if seemingly undeserving. If you don't have a QB, you've got nothing. Are the Ravens looking to live that life of having no proven quarterback?
As for long term situations, Jimmy can be. But the question above him is the same issue that led to us drafting Trey, Jimmy's health. I can see both the Jets and New England making a move.

This is more on Wilson. No rational fan is blaming Saleh.
