The hit didn't look hard enough to break the ribs and puncture something, but maybe possible. Looks more like Cardiac Arrest.

I'm told Damar Hamlin has a pulse, but is not breathing on his own. He is being transported to UC.

If they are trying to get his mom before rushing to the hospital there it must be really grave. Jesus, has anything like this ever happened in NFL history? Booger was saying he's never seen it in his 20 years with the league.

It may have happened before the NFL officially formed. I did read somewhere that this did happen from time to time in the college ranks and with semi-pro teams.
