Ambulance for Damar Hamlin is still in the parking lot. Security is working on getting his mother from the stands to ride with him. pic.twitter.com/d6qYwtgs0L

If they are trying to get his mom before rushing to the hospital there it must be really grave. Jesus, has anything like this ever happened in NFL history? Booger was saying he's never seen it in his 20 years with the league.
I think a seahawk was paralyzed on the field some 35 years ago no?
Dennis Byrd - '92 Jets
Darryl Stingley - -78 Patriots. Devastating hit by Jack Tatum of the Raiders.

Yes, I suppose there has been players down on the field where they were ultimately paralyzed. But this is so much more disturbing.

Needed AED and CPR on the field.
That's not good.
Not good, but at least he seems to be alive if this is a true report

No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game - but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome ... which suddenly seems so irrelevant.

Seriously? This is no time for spite and sarcasm.
I'm sure I speak for all Chiefs fans when I say I hope Damar Hamlin will be alright.

- NFL Pick 'em
Originally posted by Hysterikal:That will never happen. My guess is they will play tomorrow if Hamlin is out of danger. But the game isnt going to be played tonight and in no way should it be.
If im the coach of the Bengals im proposing a forfeit to the Bills.

Kevin Everett about 15 years ago, though the last time I heard about him he had recovered quite a lot of his ability to move (even walk).
Our football (soccer) here in Europe has seen quite a few collapses and even deaths unfortunately over the years. The Eriksen occasion last year was especially shocking (though thankfully he's even back playing now) because it happened live on TV to a major star during the second biggest tournament in the sport, but there have been others in lower divisions/smaller countries/unknown players; and usually very young men too (I don't know of any women yet, but the more popular that sport gets there may be problems there too).
I think people are more shocked with such a situation in the NFL because they can see the hit that caused it, like with boxing. The soccer collapses though are as chilling, especially because they happen apparently with no reason.
Anyway, all this is not important. Hopefully Hamlin will pull through (I can't say "is allright" because he is obviously not), like Eriksen. Also, I am wondering about the poor man who lay the hit, he must be completely devastated now. It's a tragic accident.

Whenever the league talks about player safety we should all remember that the NFL tried to make the players warm up for five minutes and restart this game before the coaches stepped in
