I mean, there's a reason this guy was not on anyone's active roster.
It's needed...I just hate that it's week 2 and this team is signing guys on the couch at a position the offense is predicated on.
The misfires at this position (Sermon) are haunting us right now.
Boo hoo. 1 running back down already due to injury. Obviously the position needs another body now. So let's cry that they're signing someone off the couch. What would you suggest arm chair GM? People on here just to complain I swear. By the way RB is a position every offense is predicated on. So what point are you actually trying to make other than just complaining? Really, what do you want them to do at this point?
"Obviously the position needs another body now. So let's cry that they're signing someone off the couch.":
I said "it's needed". No one's questioning that.
"What would you suggest armchair GM?":
I think many of us would have suggested to have a better plan/tandem in place knowing that Eli Mitchell, despite being very talented, already showed that he was fragile and naturally would be a complete liability to start. The concern is that Sermon was cut loose and TDP was a healthy scratch when they drafted him in the third round.
"RB is a position every offense is predicated on":
Not true. Every offense has a running back, but as clearly shown by the lack of drafting in the first round(s), most offenses are more predicated on QB and the passing game now vs San Francisco's.
I think I'm allowed to voice an opinion. It's a message board for f**k's sake. I just expressed that it's problematic that they're scraping the barrel for running backs in week 2.
Durability was a known concern for Mitchell. To have Jeff Wilson coming off a major injury (and not that great to begin with) and two unproven rookies as your backup plan was a bit short sighted.
