Umm. Not sure about that. He led a game winning drive to go up 3 with 13 seconds left, he never got the ball back. As the post up there says, he threw a 60 yard perfection, to have his WR drop it.
He runs into Mahomes every year. I don't know if he really "blew it." Everyone around the league seems to have that same problem if you notice it. They all can't beat Mahomes. Very consistently and for years now. It's a real league wide problem.

Yup. In 10 playoff games his rating is 100.0, 2,723 yards, 21 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Pretty damn good. Just going up against the league's best qb. It's like Elway and Marino getting owned by Montana.

I was saying more than what aj brown was traded for.

AJ Brown was traded for a first and third from the titans to the Eagles and that should be the comparable value. Same age during the trade and Aiyuk played better Aj brown had 105 targets his last year with the titans for 63 catches and 869 yards Aiyuk had 105 targets and had 75 catches for 1342 yard lol

He's not worth more than Brown in a trade. Late-1st round pick is about right for Aiyuk. Similar talents, but Brown was a year younger and $10M cheaper in the last year of his rookie deal ($4M vs. $14M).

Aiyuk first 4 years: 63 yards/game, 25 TDs in offense that threw for >4,000 yards every season.

Brown first 3 years: 70 yards/game, 24 TDs in offense that never threw for 4,000 yards in a season. More productive in playoffs than Aiyuk.

Aiyuk's 4th year: 78 yards per game including playoffs.
Brown's 3rd year: 72 yards per game including playoffs. Not a huge gap in the only year where you can make an argument for Aiyuk.

Brown also averaged more yards/target in his first 3 years than Aiyuk in his first 4.

Whether people want to admit it or not it's Mahomes world right now. The other people and teams are just playing in it. That's how Krueger puts it on his podcast. A good podcast BTW if people ever get the chance to listen.

I suspect if Josh Allen had Andy Reid and Spags, Josh Allen would be winning the rings. You need both. Coaching and QB play. Like Brady with Belichick and Arians is no slouch either. If you have just 1 like Rodgers, you don't win the rings or appear in SBs nearly as often.

Now I know how the elite NBA teams felt in the 90s vs. MJ. No matter how good you are, that guy will just beat you when the game is on the line.

I remember as a Knicks fan, the MJ sabbatical year they went to the Finals and lost to the Rockets.....and that was their only chance to get it done while Jordan was still on the Bulls....lol.

Yup, that's why I kinda asterisk the Rams SB win against the Bengals. It wasn't against KC....

Earned and valid, but when people say McVay won a bowl and Kyle didn't.....the challenge wasn't equal.

And when he faced a force of a team/HC, he lost and never had a chance, let alone had a win choked (Patriots over Rams 13-3).

This is kind of weird. The Bengals beat KC, in KC. Came back from down 21-3 IIRC. Bengals also lost a 50/50 heartbreaker in the AFCCG rematch the following year. They're also really good.

Either way, I'm still taking Kyle over McVay.

Agreed.

Not just the coaching but also the surrounding players. This past season was closer to even in terms of skill player support surrounding the QB but you have to wonder what some of these past games would have looked like if Allen had Tyreek and Kelce on his side. Those are all time great weapons. Allen is going blow for blow with that offense with lower quality offensive coaching and with Diggs as his best and only real quality weapon.

Truth to it, but imo Allen isnt nearly as good as Mahomes.

I'll make $2 million dollars on minimum wage before Allen wins his first Lombardi.

What state are you talking about though because if it's California it won't be that long lol?

Buffalo and Cincinnati can beat KC because they have enough QB pedigree to do so.....they're "allowed" to do so. They won't get it done with Jared Goff or Kirk Cousins.

Meanwhile when those two teams face off against the NFC, they don't let their QBs necessarily outshine anyone. Hence how the 49ers beat the Bengals a few years back and could beat the Bills in most people's minds.

And that's how the Rams beat the Bengals too. The true test for McVay is if he can beat the Chiefs going forward....he caught them in 2018 when the Chiefs had no real defense and he had massive firepower himself (that would go away the year after) and just was able to outlast them. Not sure he has what it takes to beat the new type of Chiefs that have the shutdown defense like the ones the Patriots had that embarrassed him a few months later.
