There's no way anybody is trading a 1st for CMC. I would be absolutely shocked if that's what the Panthers are truly thinking they're going to get. More likely they're going to wait it out til the deadline and end up trading him to the Rams for a 2nd and 3rd or something like that.

Nothing entices this front office more than a guy who can't stay on the field

I wouldn't do that, he's always hurt.
I would give up a third, but I thought Kyle doesn't need to spend high draft picks on a RB?
Plus his contract, how would his numbers fit into our salary cap? Still have to take care of Bosa.

I don't see anyone who can outbid the 49ers.

Why on earth would we trade the guy we just gave up massive draft capital for? We purposefully held him out last year, and he had a freak injury early on this year. Theres no reason to trade him, especially for McCaffrey, who cant stay healthy.

I wouldn't rule out a trade but they would only do it for the right price and if they feel they are firmly in contention.
The assumption is they wouldn't make the move based on prior history but 2019 was the only season that the team was clearly in contention before the trading deadline and they did make the Sanders trade that year.
2020 the season was derailed by injuries before the trading deadline and in 2021 the season was on life support at the time.
So it's hard to say if they wouldn't be more aggressive if they felt like bolstering the lineup with a trade would boost their chances if they were in prime position to make the playoffs. I would expect a 3rd rounder is the most they'll go in a trade especially if they feel it could end up being a rental.

No real role for CMC on this roster. I know he's a Swiss army knife in terms of running / receiving ability, but RB seems like a position we're set in.
the only reason to chase him is bc we all know the Rams will give up ridiculous amount of capital to get him. McVay has no interest in keeping draft picks and I can see him offer Carolina a second and third rounder for him….

People complaining about Kittle/BA and Deebo (at times) not getting the ball enough…now you want CMC too lol?
how about we stop burning valuable picks for RBs when SF can toss out guys like Wilson/Mitchell for nothing and have great results?
It's fun to think about what Kyle could do it, but imo we could use those assets for something we need more imo

You're serious? With the way Shanny uses running backs you think we're set? Wilson is our prime back right now. Wilson. Not horrible doing decent but cmon.
on that note i would rather have an O line or two.

I won't be surprised if the Rams end up getting Mccafrey. They always seem to go all out and pull money/picks out of somewhere.
For the 49ers, I'd offer Mitchell, Kinlaw, and maybe a 4th or 5th future pick if thats needed. Two pieces that could help them in their rebuild. We won't need Mitchell if we have McCaffrey. If all else fails, lets offer Kittle. Kittle is always injured and he's so overpaid right now for what he does for this offense, essentially blocking an a few catches, if that, per game.
