Good lord we need CMC. Special player with Shanny and JL ties. Wilson is effing up massive. Key fumbles in two losses. Mitchell nowhere in sight. We are a run heavy team. Get me CMC.

So that's what you think the problem is with the running game, the RBs? Outside of a fumble, Wilson is avg almost 5 ypc.

we need a DT, C, DB over a freaking injury prone RB.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the 49ers and Rams have been "implicated" in a potential trade for Christian McCaffrey.

Fowler also mentioned the Bills as a potential landing spot for McCaffrey, though his contract might be an issue for a Buffalo team that "wants to keep its cap outlook clean for next year due to many top-dollar players on the payroll," per Fowler. The Rams backfield is in flux after the team appeared to part ways with former starter Cam Akers last week. Darrell Henderson worked as LA's lead back in Week 6 against the Panthers. The 49ers are expecting Elijah Mitchell back in the next few weeks after deploying Jeff Wilson as the starter for much of the regular season. The Panthers have been open to trading away CMC since the summer, according to Fowler, who said it would not be a surprise if McCaffrey were dealt before the NFL's November 1 trade deadline.

Where did you get this? Is this in Fowler's paywall article?

I mean who can we give to the Panthers for CMC?

To respond, you mention 'a' fumble.. it is two fumbles as you would have known if you read my post.

Also this is the Carolina thread. I don't think they are moving any of their C, DT, or DBs of value. The guys we would want they aren't moving at those spots.

Yes I think we have huge RB need with TDP and Mason not trusted by KS for any real carries, Wilson effing up and Mitch on the shelf.

We just ran for 50 yds as a team with 3.1 ypc in a loss. Wilson stunk. Our long rush was 9 yds.

Panthers eat a ton of DM moving CMC, correct? They're gonna want a 2nd and more imo. No thanks

yeah I think it will take a lot to move him because the panthers will be eating a lot of DM I believe

that is not bad, but i think he can be had for a 3rd or multiple threes as we are going to get multiple comp picks

It's also they have a high value of CMC and other teams won't even come close to matching their value of a RB. Teams are gonna have to overpay and if the Rams had the bullets I think they would but I just don't think they possess the ammunition to even pull this off.

They eat $26M but also save $36M. All about how you look at it.

Also, not saying Allbright is wrong but the dude was convinced AB would be a 49er lol

I really don't see the point. We're not lacking playmakers. People are upset that the current guys aren't getting the ball enough lol. Wilson is running for almost 5 ypc and we have Mitchell and TDP coming back. We don't need another RB. We need a legit DT, center and DB well before a RB.

Fans want splash and love fantasy football…but it's not what we really need.

He's by far more correct then incorrect. He also said it wasn't definite that he wouldn't get moved, just not seeing it right now.

the fan and Fantasy football enthusiast in me would think it would be cool. Logically we don't need to burn more picks on RBs.

how do they save $36M? Just curious…

All the money the trading team pays for ($12M per season in 2023-2025) is money that the Panthers wouldn't have to pay anymore.

Basically, Carolina owes McCaffrey $62M between now and the end of 2025. By trading him they would only owe him $26M (the dead cap hit).
