Mitchell was avging more yards after contact last yr then CMC is avging. It isn't just about our current backup RB, I was talking about JWJ because he's doing more than fine until we get Mitchell back.

RB is not the issue

Mitchell has been hurt more then CMC, with their powers combined…. Captain RB!
We dont need an overhyped rb running behind our tinkertoy iol. We need better iol. Didnt somebody mention the carolina center? How bout him?
We don't need McCaffrey to be a bell cow, we need to be a Playmaker to replace Raheem Mostert and add dynamics to a boring stale predictable offense.

I agree with this. I think he would definitely help. I would hope KS could find creative ways to get him the ball. He doesn't need to get 25 touches like in Carolina. 10-15 would be enough.

If the Niners traded for CMC, I'd like to see him used half the time in the slot in addition to the backfield. Might extend his career playing more as a receiver

That right there is more so the problem. This offense is so easy to predict and defend IMO

Their center Pat Elflien? I don't see anyone else that would come at a reasonable cost.

I am not sure I would want to add a center midseason. Takes time to get a rapport with other linemen, your QB, with your checks at the LOS.. etc. Let's roll with Brendel he's doing good I think.

He's been below average

I agree, that's why he's injured so often. He's not a bell cow RB, he's a Playmaker who gets huge chunks of yardage. Can you imagine how confused defenses would be if we lined McCaffrey at Wr and Deebo at running back, then reversed it lol? Defenses would be calling timeouts left and right for our formations lol.
Mostert would be great but McDungials isn't trading him unless we give them Trey Lance plus picks.

Mccaffery would be a great option but knowing our luck he'll be out on a stretcher or ''HIGGGGGGH ANKLE SPRAAAAAAAIN.''
Just based off of age, contract and FA/5th year status I would prefer Brown over Payne, but for the life of me don't know why CAR would trade the likes of Brown or Burns if rebuilding . I'd give a 2nd for Brown

No one on our D-line is out for the season and if anything, we need DTs so no on Burns.

I think our O-line is good when healthy so no there.

I would be very down for McCaffrey if the draft compensation isnt too high. Something like a 3rd would be okay. Our offense is hurting and we need a spark. If we could line up McCaffrey as a slot receiver and manage his up-the-middle rushes, I think he can stay healthy. He is still one of the best offensive weapons in the league. It also helps that this would be a minimal impact to our salary cap and we could release him at the end of the season if we wanted. I mean when we went to the SB, we gave a 3rd for Sanders as a 1 year rental

Brown is 24 and Payne is 25. One year gap is not a big difference

Panthers aren't likely going to trade anyone they value who is young. Burns and Brown are building blocks still.

Absolutely would send a 2 for Brown.

Yep guys on rookie contracts that still have years ahead of them are virtually untradeable. Fire sales include older veterans, injury-plagued players and players on the last year of the their deal that they wont look to bring back

One is in his 5th year and heading into FA and one is on a rookie deal in his 3rd year:
