I definitely would agree Trey sees the field better… though it's a small sample.
I was pretty confident Fields was a bust coming out. Didn't feel great about Trey either but the biggest issue I had with Trey was it was so obvious a project of that magnitude didn't fit our team's timeline. Fields was just as big a project as a passer and had more glaring issues IMO.
I just noticed I said "Trey sees the field better than Lance" lmao my bad.'I meant Trey sees it better than fields.
i only wanted fields over the other two because I thought fields mobility was elite (and Kyle was harping about playing 11-11), so I thought he was the only one who could do what Kyle was talking about. I was hopjng it wasn't mac jones just because I think he's a very average player and crappy personality - although I think we can win games with him, it would be another Jimmy IMO.
oh well, it's over and it looks like we came out of it pretty fortunate. Lol could be a whole lot worse - the bears should of looked into trading fields and drafting a guy with 1. Hindsight is 20/20, I guess let's just see how he looks going forward but it doesn't seem promising.

I would be willing to bet you if Trey Lance had 27 starts, he would see the field better than Fields does. Obviously thats just conjecture, but I dont know that there is anyone worse than Fields currently.

I never saw Lance issue as struggling to see the field. I saw Lance struggling at pulling the trigger ala Alex Smith. Can't do that in the NFL. Russ is having the same issue right now in Denver.
Fields just seems completely lost.

Shesh
Macs damn is very small. He's gonna be a backup real soon if all he can do is throw screens.

I remember how heated WZ discussions got during the draft process about Fields' inability to see and process the field. People were adamant that it was a byproduct of the OSU offense. Also, there were people implying(some explicitly accusing us of being)that we were racist for calling out Fields' slow field processing. 🤡🤡🤡🤡

Same thing with Trey Lance. I got the "racist" label from more than one Webzoner.

Love this quote. The reality is, you can say the right thing for the wring reason. There were critiques that had no basis in film study and on the field performance and others that did.
We gonna keep pretending he was wrong, even tho he was right? Oh boyyy..
He said TL can't run well (true), slow to throw (true), needs to really set himself to deliver the football (true) kinda hopeless on offense (true, look at JTO and his turndowns) when receivers are open, and the ball is not coming out, that's hopeless in my book.. why bother even running a great route, if you don't get the ball over and over when doing so.. DJ Moore knows this by now, he's open every play, and no football, that's a big problem. Moore feels hopeless, so do CHI fans, coaches, you name it.
Again...I said say the right thing for the wrong reason. Its like saying 2 raised to the second power equals 4 since you multiply the base number times the exponent, which although the answer was right, the concept was applied incorrectly. Right answer, wrong reason. People pointed out that Martz wasn't doing an analysis of Trey, or Lamar, just blindly questioning their processing because they could run. I don't give credit to blind squirrels that find a nut. Totally different than what JTO has done, digging into the film and demonstrating exactly what he's talking about.

Yeah it was insane. I'm guilty of being a Fields supporter during that time, but people took it too far lol.

Justin Fields with 34 yards at the half. Might start losing his spot in the MVP race if he doesn't start to pick it up.

I still maintain this dude would not have been drafted early if Trey Sermon didn't make that Ohio St offense waaaay better than it was. He pretty much carried that team, not Fields. Trey goes out for the Championship and the offense went to s**t.
