Definitely starting to look like it. I definitely like it when I can cheer and watch our players grow. Trey is definitely behind coming out of college and is now behind developing in the NFL. The positive is he us young and definitely has time to sit and learn.

Actually for the most part, they would be killing Kyle. That is now 4 games for Justin with over 10+ carries.

Half the board would be pissed at Shanny for 14 carries yesterday. The other half would be calling for his head because the offensive genius couldn't muster more than 123 pass yards and in 9 games this year he has 4 outings with under 125 yards passing. Only one game out 9 with 200 yards or more passing

They weren't all designed runs. Completely different. If Fields drops back, escapes the pocket and gets you 60 yards and a TD, that is awesome.

When the coach "designs" 10+ runs between the tackles for your QB, that is not the same.

They weren't all designed runs here either for Trey but ya'll openly chose and as evidenced by your post above, continue to ignore that.

Trey was running designed runs, or options. Completely different than a QB in the shotgun, dropping back, escaping the pass rush and running. Trey has more than twice as Many rush attempts as throws.

That is why you have a mobile QB. Someone to throw it first, but able to make something happen if and when a play breaks down. Maybe the random designed run to catch a team off balance. Escapability. I didn't see that approach with Trey.

Terrific running qb. But I've seen this movie. It is unsustainable. Running Qb's last a few years. Statues that pass like Tom Brady last two decades maybe more.

I want a good passer. Not an electrifying qb such as fields and jackson, Vick. What have they won?

everyone's on his nuts but they guy was what 17/28? He's a poor man's Lamar jackson.

Have you seen the weapons he has? Or lack of weapons. Scrubs that were even cut from this team. Put some talent around him. He's tremendous. If you put the right team around him.

Why do you type like a kid lol
He may very well be a star. But this is an massive overreaction. Remember when we thought kaep was the next John elway?

he's had some games with qb rating in the 60's. But they let him play. Let our guy play and then judge. For the record I thought we were drafting fields after shanny met with him or jones.

I do like the fact that our guy is a pass first mentality. Backyard football works for a season or two then they catch-up to you. Unless your Lamar jackson. That guys electrifying. But I doubt he will win a ring either.

He is just about as fast and quick as Lamar Jackson. Pretty close. He can throw from the pocket too.

Just for comparison, Jimmy has 215 yards rushing for his entire career. Fields had 178 in one game.

Fields and Jackson both get ripped for their passing but if you look at their production it's as good or better than Jimmy.
Jimmy has 77 Tds in his 6 seasons with SF. Granted he was and missed several games but that's part of being an effective QB.

Jackson already has 100 TD passes in 5 seasons. Fields has 17 in one year (half of last season and this year) That works out to over 100 in 6 seasons. The idea that these guys can't pass is a fallacy. They may have a lower completion percentage but they're putting points on the board. Neither of them has great receivers either. Plus you can't ignore all the yards they're racking up on the ground.

Well he's only had about one season worth of games started. Jimmy has 9year sin the league and is in his 6th as the starter for the Niners so he has a huge edge in experience. Let's compare the two.

Jimmy has 11 TD passes with a TD% of 5.2. He has 1691 yards passing. His QBR is 47.4. He has 2 excellent experienced receiver sand a great TE. He has a good play caller.

Fields has 10 TD passes with a TD% of 5.3. He has 1322 yards passing and a QBR of 55.1 with terrible receivers and an OC who isn't nearly as good as Kyle.
He also has 602 yards rushing with another4 TDs

So when you actually look at real production and not just completion percentage or passer rating, Fields looks better than Jimmy. He has a higher QBR even with his terrible receivers and surrounding talent. The only reason he has less passing yards is probably due to all the YAC 49er receivers get. Maybe what we should be asking is when is Jimmy going to become a good QB.

People really don't grasp the situation that Fields is in. His rookie year was as rough a situation any rookie QB could be in. It was so bad that after the Cleveland game ESPN had a segment dedicated to whether or not Nagy was intentionally trying to ruin Fields. Most quarterbacks don't come out of that year not ruined, let alone alive.

Fast forward to year two, a completely gutted offensive roster with a new GM, coach and coordinator. This is essentially his rookie year, and they spent the first half trying to figure out how to use him. They realize they can't protect him, so they've been rolling him out more and moving the pocket. Even then, his receivers have an almost 8% percent drop rate, good for 4th worse in the NFL. JT O'Sullivan reviewed the Dolphins tape and literally laughed at how bad the receivers were. They can't separate in man coverage and have no idea how to sit down in zones.

All this has led to a lack of passing yards, but he's somehow managed to be brutally efficient with the football with few opportunities. He's taking less sacks, not throwing picks and not fumbling. He's not taking hits and he's throwing with timing. The running is incredible, but it's his growth as a passer in a dire situation that is most exciting.

He's on a terrible team with zero weapons and a bad offensive line. Despite it all he's playing really well. That says it all IMO. His upside is huge. He's already pretty good with terrible talent around him. Imagine him on this team with these weapons. Wow.
