That was my thing. If you wanted that aspect JF was always the better prospect than TL. I under no circumstance can understand why they chose TL over JF.

Edit: to be fair TL did always seem to know where to go with the football. Just didn't always get it there. He did have that going for him over JF. Still does really.

The running thing with TL was just something to do until he was more consistent as a passer. Some may wonder why not just have him pass consistently? Well, Shanahan's offense thrives on 2nd and short and 3rd and short. You can't get there if the QB isn't hitting the passes consistently. I didn't like all of the running, but I get the why. He isn't a great runner, but he's good enough to affect defenses and keep the chains moving. Hopefully he makes strides as a passer in next year's training camp so we can be less reliant on that.

Fields was the better prospect then and now. I have no idea how Lance is better? Based on what? In what category? There is nothing you can point to.

Yeah Fields always had better talent than Lance. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on which side of the fence you are standing, the 49ers were probably the only organization that believed Lance was better than Fields.
49ers fans really salty about Fields for absolutely no reason. Proves the anger ya'll feel over picking Lance over him.

JURY STILL OUT.. but coming out of college, you gots to give the nod to Justin or Lance... Justin played more and played against better competition in college.

He's got to be more ahead then Lance.. no worries.. no worries !!

Yeah I agree. Fields was the pick. If you wanted an athletic QB. He is the MORE ATHLETIC QB. More experience and further ahead too.
I'm definitely picking him up on waivers this week.

Dude sucks as a passer but he's a helluva running back

Darnell Mooney is his #1 receiver. Give him a #1 like a Deebo or Hopkins type and I guarantee his passing game will improve.

Everyone, and I mean everyone is entitled to their opinion.

But it's still hilarious to see people come on and say, "Dude sucks as a passer" while guys who evaluate players, evaluate talent, and watch him every week talk about how he's throwing better and better. Dilfer talks weekly about he makes some great throws. Hell, Martz did a complete 180 from "Fields can't do anything" to saying he's exciting.

Guy completed 68% of his passes with a better than 7:1 TD to INT ratio in college because he sucks as a passer. Yes, that's college, but it's probably against the second toughest level of competition conference wise and it's not a June Jones/Mike Leach style offense in which limited QB's put up video games numbers because of it.

Loser. Another kyler Murray. Looks flashy, pulls some plays out of his ass, doesn't know how to game manage or win. It's all about him.

Because right now it is all about him. Who else do they have on that offense?

Khalil Herbert is pretty good. Kmet might be pretty good. Fields is literally though the only reason the Bears are even in some of these games at this point. Or at least the main reason. Put Andy Dalton in there, if he was still there, against the Dolphins last week and the Bears probably lose by 4 scores or at least 3.

The same Mooney who had 1k yards last year? And Chicago just traded for Chase Claypool. The skill talent is above average in Chicago.

A QB should be able to improve with the skill talent he now has. A QB shouldn't require one of the very top WRs in the NFL to improve as a passer. We'll see if can continue to grow and develop as a passer as Claypool gets more comfortable in their scheme and can play a bigger role.

No one thought Josh Allen was necessarily that great as a passer until Stefon Diggs showed up.

Obviously he's a work in progress. So was Allen for his first 2 years.

They are.

Like I said, it's comical even.
