As a Fields defender I'd like to formally hand in my resignation. Dude ain't it

I didn't watch the full game, just redzone channel, which was mostly on LAC / MIA for good reason. He didn't look good, but this was a 3 win team. They added weapons, let's give it some time. Ramping from 3 wins to maybe 8 would be a pretty big jump. Lot of season left. He didn't lose anything with his athleticism, he was looking good in that regard, as always. His backups are Nate Peterman and some undrafted rook, so he's got a long leash. I like both Fields and Love. Love did alright without his top WR.
Fields looked awful yesterday. Had a couple nice scrambles but that was it. As a thrower, Love looked much much better.

Fields was facing a very good defense with the best CB in the NFL. But it's his inability to read a defense is why I'm selling. Dude predetermines his pass in the same way Kap did. And for that reason I am out
Chicago needs to move on from Fields like we dis with Lance, he aint it, rip that s**t off like a band aid

We were moving on from a QB3 at high cap hit. They have JF at a lower cap hit, and as QB1. Nate Peterman is the backup. Even if you think they should move on, that ship has sailed. We are into the season, if they want to move on, they will do so in the following offseason. I think Fields will be fine.

yeah NFL is not for long so if they struggle all year I expect Poles to get dumped, maybe that HC and Fields as well. But I think Fields will have a good year.
Per PFF , Fields had the lowest pass rating amongst starters last year at 54

he got a 49 rating yesterday

I cannot understand why Chicago sticks with this guy, but who knows? Perhaps this will be the year the lightbulb flickers to life? He's certainly had his fair share of chances to succeed in the NFL.

He's also on a terrible team with terrible coaching

Agreed, but I have the feeling of the damage is done and likely not reclaimed.
