I nevewr said Fields sucks but he's not anywhere near a top NFL QB. To be fair he doesn't have a lot of weapons but he's still too willing to run first. Maybe if he had better weapons he would stay in the pocket longer. The point is you can't compare Fields who had a full year at OSU against top competition and now has 14 or 15 starts to Lance. Most of us including Kyle knew that Lance was green and would need at least a year on the field to develop. As green as he is, he may need 3 years to reach his full potential.

If he doesn't work then it's a big setback for the team but they saw enough raw talent to take a chance. Fortunes have been made by people that took a chance.

Best ability is availability one has it the other doesn't.

So you're writing Trey off because a lineman fell on his ankle and broke a bone?

No but Trey was gonna get hurt regardless of that happening with his running style. You can crap on Fields for plenty of s**t but he hasn't missed a single game accept for when he had Covid. That's cause he who you said runs to much even though it's completely in line with Lamar Jackson but Fields knows how to protect himself. He slides or gets out of bounds. Lance has gotten hurt on average in 2 games as a starter.l both years. That's not encouraging at all.

Ehh.. I disagree with that. Fields has taken some MONSTER hits... I'm actually shocked he hasn't been injured. He's just now learning to slide.

The biggest hit he's taken was when he failed to read a blitz or didn't u derstand his blockers assignments and got blown up in the pocket.

I see a trend with these big hits he's taken

The Bears loss looking more understandable. They have a good run game, secondary, Fields a work in progress but he runs awful well.

Fields runs 4.4. Lance 4.85 in game speed at least. Looks so slow. At least Fields can get the first downs when the play breaks down running. Other than Lamar Jackson not to many guys more dynamic running around. He throws just as good or better than Lance at this point. I have no idea how Lance is better? Only in people's dreams. Because in real life Fields is better at least at this point. By a lot.

Yes, this is why I was begging for them to draft Fields instead of Lance. My argument was that Fields came from a big time program (Ohio State) and played against other NFL caliber talent versus Lance who only played 1 season at NDSU. I just hope Lance proves me and everyone else wrong.
Starting to get better and better. I preferred him slightly over Lane due to the level of competition he faced. But i didn't think it was that much of a difference of speed but you can clearly see that it is now.
Fields has issues that were apparent when he was at Ohio State, and he will never reach his full potential with this crappy Bears team. He could have used a full year to sit and learn to be a pro.

Trey had 2 guys roll up on his ankle. I don't know how that is preventable, Other than just not running him. It's not like he took some head on collision and broke his collarbone or something. It was just a freak accident.

I am still not sure whether or not he would have had the mental makeup to be the franchise QB of this organization. It's a whole different kind of pressure from being the QB of a rebuilding Bears team to being the QB of this organization that wants to win now and has 5 SB's and has 2 of the all-time great QB's that he would have to live up to. In that regard I think Trey is built to withstand that kind of pressure more than Fields can.

I'm aware of how he got hurt and I agree. But if you're gonna willfully ignore how he refused to slide and tries to run people over then this is pointless. Like I get you wanna defend Trey and bashing Fields to prop up Trey is super trendy but all I complimented Fields on was his health and his ability to get down to try and protect himself. Cause Trey has been injured in limited action both years if you don't think that's concerning then great but I have a major concerns about it.

Well I already said before that I think Kyle needs to eliminate the designed runs. Especially now that they will have CMC. No reason at all for Trey to run the ball unless he has to. Just run on scrambling plays.

That's not why he was drafted. Kyle wants 11 on 11 football that means read options are happening. Trey just needs to leave yards on the field when the games don't matter. Kyles not going to take away Treys best asset which is his ability to run.

He's already blown up at the press and said dumb things. And that's with the Bears where there is hardly any pressure.
