Dog 💩. He's a horrible processor. Just slow in recognition and like I said, he can't pass. Funny, where are all those people now who disagreed????

Old enough to remember that when this was said during draft process it was because he was black. Was supposed to be completely unfounded.

This is on the coaches

Wow, that was bad

I really never understood all the gushing last year from the media. Ya he's a fun runner to watch, but as a QB he was awful.

Although I'm surprised he's taken such an even more backwards step, especially with all the new talent.

He's gonna need to figure it out soon this year or there's no way the Bears stick with him at QB.

Yikes 😬🫠
2 months ago he was the biggest dark horse MVP candidate and bears fans were thinking they were winning the division
Lol at the people that drafted Fields in the earlier rounds in fantasy

I drafted him in a league , still first place doe .

but I showed him ! Benched for Love this week . He gonna learn
He is really slow to spot the open receiver. That causes him to run around a lot and he ends up getting sacked. He's really fast but eventually the defenders close in around him. He leads the NFL in sacks taken since he's been a starter. Murry in Arizona is the same way. They both think they can always run away from the defense. Maybe in college but the NFL is different.
Not to be a dick, but I sincerely believe his epilepsy plays a role with his inability to process information when the bullets are flying. I know someone with epilepsy, and the medication he takes to function on a daily basis has his brain cooked.

the prob here is he wants to play backyard ball
gotta be able to play within the structure of the offense, there are 10 other guys, and they aren't ad libbing, they are relying on the QB to be on the same schedule they are

this is why you don't roster Nate Peterman as QB2, you need to have someone who can play so he can sit a few weeks and figure it out
He's got talent, I question with these comments, is he coachable?

Crazy thing is ins college he didn't play much backyard ball. He always held on to the ball too long but he stayed int eh pocket much more than he ran around in college

I don't see why these comments would make him uncoachable.

The problem is to have sustained success, a QB needs to be able to operate from the pocket. And operating from the pocket does require a certain amount of robotic thinking - to react to the changes from the defense pre/post snap. Maybe the answer at this point in his career is to have a middle ground where he has a certain amount of freedom while also having to adhere to the offensive system that is in place to prepare him for long term success. They need to build up his confidence, and if that means simplifying his reads, then so be it.
