Can you imagine Brock Purdy saying something like this? Stop listening to coaches? Play the game like only I know how to play it? This guy is going to get himself killed when nobody blocks for him. What happens when his receivers stop listening to coaches and decide to run whatever route they want? Or the entire offensive line decides to block just one guy instead of four?

The comments tell me he needs to sit his butt down, and watch someone else play for a few weeks.
If you are that frustrated in media, that you can't be diplomatic.. I think the saying is success is we, accountability is me, high school and college kids know this stuff..

Some ppl are just bristly personalities, and don't take well to coaching, they get defensive, or feel they know better than the coach..
You can tell he ain't coachable, cuz nothing is getting fixed, week to week

Does it matter what route the WR runs when you won't throw it to them when wide open?
We are gonna find out who wields the authority over at Halas Hall
I still believe Trey can eventually prove to be the second best QB in his class... but that might not be saying much with how awful Wilson and Fields have looked. Not to mention both of them are starting to show their true character, or lack thereof.

Totally agree with all.
I think the big difference between the 49ers and the Bears is this: The 49ers are not afraid to cut bait and move on after a draft blunder. When it became apparent that Trey Lance was not going to develop into the type of QB that Shanahan wanted to run his offense, the 49ers were more than willing to eat the three wasted draft picks and ship Lance to Dallas.

The Bears, meanwhile, are stuck with Fields for the time being. Part of the reason might be they have no answer behind Fields at QB. Another part of the reason is the Bears HC does not have the type of authority that Shanahan has to admit defeat and move on. I'm not sure. What I am sure of is this: The Bears invested a lot of draft capital into Trubisky first, and Fields second, without getting any kind of a return on these investments.

Who is calling the shots over there?

It's possible. Lance is the only one that hasn't really had a chance to play much, and I don't see him getting it anytime soon. Mac isn't a terrible qb but he isn't super reliable either.

i have no doubt Lance can be the third best qb. Both Lance and fields are pretty bad at playing qb from the pocket but I think Lance is more natural at it then him. I wanted fields but it looks like we would of been screwed regardless of who we took. Lol

Mac would of been the worst to take, not because he would of been bad - but because he's the type to play good enough to keep hope he can get better and not bad enough to bench. Lol those guys are the worst
Darn it still might be Lance that is the 2nd best qb in his class lol. Wilson is trash, Mac is below average, and Fields is looking like the typical Ohio state qb and now he's blaming coaches. Trey had his faults, but he still hasn't publicly blamed anyone on the niners. That may change, but we will see.

As for Fields... dude better put up video game numbers in the next couple of weeks or else Chicago will be an unexpected candidate for Caleb

Agree with this sentiment. Honestly, if Trey came in with our 2017-2018 roster, he would've gotten the kinks out to become a good QB. Unfortunately, this team was ready for a superbowl and he wasn't.

Mac would've frustrated me cause I don't see anything special in him at all. He makes some nice throws, but he doesn't come across as a leader in any shape or form.

We might have gotten very lucky with Brock. It's still too early, but we've gotten more out of him than any 7th round qb ever has for their teams.

Either that or these guys were throwing games and involved in games fixing. Why else would the fbi be involved with a DC
