If you are that frustrated in media, that you can't be diplomatic.. I think the saying is success is we, accountability is me, high school and college kids know this stuff..

Some ppl are just bristly personalities, and don't take well to coaching, they get defensive, or feel they know better than the coach..
You can tell he ain't coachable, cuz nothing is getting fixed, week to week

Still waiting on that Jalen Hurts leap that you said could happen for Fields.

It probably would have if he was more coachable, guys are open, DJ Moore is open every snap
I do think Claypool is overrated, they gave up a near first rounder for him, he sucks, so far

Guys were open last year too, and he couldnt hit them. So yeah.

Fair enough, maybe he'll go down as a bust although still has some NFL records, and a fun athlete to watch.

Also, it's a long season. This time last year, he had two pretty hard to watch games, he started going off in October and was pretty fun to watch.

Other than Lawrence, this QB draft class has been absolutely putrid.

Pretty crazy. On paper this looked like the best QB draft possibly ever with 5 QBs that were going to be top 15 picks.
Gets crazier ? This is the real Twitter right?

Dog 💩. He's a horrible processor. Just slow in recognition and like I said, he can't pass. Funny, where are all those people now who disagreed????

Old enough to remember that when this was said during draft process it was because he was black. Was supposed to be completely unfounded.

The problem is, as terrible of a processor he is, because of the history, it's going to be hard for any analyst to make that critique and not face any blowback because of the history of black QBs being labeled as slow processors where the analysis wasn't an actual analysis, it was totally rooted in racism. Now folks can't make heads of tails of anything in some of these situations. I was a fan of Fields coming out and thought hey, this can be coached if he's allowed to sit a year or 2 to get up to that point. Essentially being remade, a la the work Mike Holmgren and Mike Shanahan did with Steve Young or Holmgren with Favre. But he had to end up in the right situation in order for this to work. He did not. And regardless of his coaching situation, it is on him to improve in this regard. Not only does it look like it's not going to happen, but it makes me wonder what offseason work did he do? What was the exit meeting like? What QB coach is he working with in the offseason and what is the film study like? If he could even be an average QB, he'd be very dangerous for a few years because of the running ability, but I can't even see the Bears getting that out of Fields.

I still can't believe the Bears made the Super Bowl back in 06, they've otherwise been a consistently bad franchise since around 1995. Has anyone other than the Deadskins and Lions been that bad over that period of time (not counting the Browns and Texans, the Texans have more playoff wins anyway)? The Niners have 15 playoff wins over that period of time and that includes 8 straight years between 2003-2010 where the franchise ranged from total mediocrity to bottom 3 team in the league. Chicago has three playoff wins.

For those old enough to remember, Chicago was a powerhouse in the 80s and early 90s. What a terribly mismanaged franchise.

06 Bears made it cuz they are, who we thought they were, so we had to crown em

The NFC was mostly terrible in the 2000s. The 02 Tampa and 09 Saints were legit. The effing 07 Giants were the flukiest, luckiest Super Bowl winner ever.

What makes fields such a poor passer? Is it that he just struggles to read the field? Is he poor at pre snap? Is his accuracy that bad? Or his anticipation?

is it a combo of all of it? Lol I was hoping we would take him at the time but it looks like it didn't matter which of the three we took. Seems like Mac would of given us the best production of the three but I don't see him being a super bowl caliber guy either. Justin fields just had elite legs on him.

With the rules today, it's very very difficult for a defense to continually shut down teams, especially the good teams. You need a qb who can score at a decent clip.

you're not shutting down mahommes, Allen, burrow etc. if you're playing them in the playoffs. You can only slow them down. That's my opinion.
We're in the end game of Fields tenure in Chicago. He's in self-preservation mode, deflecting all blame and criticism of his poor play onto coaching.

As long as he can still run and use his legs, he'll always have an opportunity to start somewhere in this league. IMO, I don't think he will ever reach his potential and develop into a competent passer.
