Mac, fields, or Lance would of ended poorly. Mac would of been horrible in the sense that he would play well enough to not bench him but not well enough to be sold on him. That's the worst kind of qb to have cause you're stuck in mediocrity.

Mac is not so bad, he has his challenges but generally speaking he has been functional under poor circumstances. I personally cant stand the dude...I hate his personality....but he looks like an NFL QB.

Like you allude to though, he has not done well enough that we could not expect a regression from being a possibility.

Mac is stuck with Purdy down in that low 2.1/2.2ish seconds to throw area, getting hurried a ton... neither QB is getting much help from their lines. Not an easy place for any QB to be let alone young QBs.

I think he was specifically talking about Arizona lol

He might sing a different tune. Arizona is impressing me a bit.

oh they got a new owner?

that was him going into 'eff it' mode

CHI needs him to sit down now on the bench, and probably an interim HC

I honestly didn't think he would be this bad. I think they should run him more. I know there is the chance he can get hurt. But it's the 1 thing he is really good at. Unleash the read option and runs.

He has some talent, but looks at him postgame, he's pouting like a petulant child. He has major attitude problems, it's a big red flag, when the guy is asked why he's playing robotic and he answers, could be coaching, he knows what he is doing there.. he's being an idiot. Z Wilson did this same thing, and lost his gig.. Saleh is a real one, I don't think this Eberflus is, no way JF acts like he's been acting and should see the field.. he needs to grow up first.

I think we would be a winning team with Mac, I have 0 doubt that he can function and play at a decent level in the NFL. I just don't think he is going to hit a level that would of made the fans happy. I look at it like we would just be replacing jimmy with a cheaper Jimmy. Which ultimately isn't what we need.

we need a guy who elevates and is cool under pressure, Brock is that guy and that whole draft (2021) has been a bust outside of Lawrence. Those other guys look awful, except Mac. He's serviceable but not someone you'd desire to have leading your franchise… unless Zach Wilson is your qb. Lmao
Oh Brother This Guy Stinks! (too)

Looks like a backup QB to me. Pats don't have a bad o line, he's just not able to see exactly whats going on. The fact that they throw so many screens shows the coaching staff has very little confidence in him. His physical limitations are also pretty apparent throwing downfield.

I expect the Pats to move off him in the offseason, especially if Cousins hits free agency. Bill wont have the patience for a young guy.

Speaking again as an Ohio State fan, I don't think maturity is an issue for Justin Fields unless it's developed in Chicago. This is a young man apparently from a very good family who pretty much spearheaded getting the Big Ten (if we can it that) to actually play at least some football in 2020.

Now I'm not going to sit here and say none of this is on Justin Fields. It is. But at the same time that organization seems to be a complete and total joke right now and they're going to make laughingstock organizations like Cleveland, the Jets, and yes the Lions look like some of the league's best in comparison if they don't figure it out.

This would make sense if my opinion was something other than "give the kid a chance to play before making any conclusions." You act as if I am some big Trey Lance fan, when I have never been anything but middle of the road on him. But I am sure you had issues understanding that, like usual.

Once again, Martz has a script he reads whenever there is a QB that is considered a running QB. Just because he "was on the nose about TL" doesnt mean he should be praised for saying literally the exact same thing about every running QB. As someone said to you a few times, being right for the wrong reason, doesnt deserve praise.

I am not triggered at all. But there hasnt been a single poster to bring up Mike Martz on this entire board than you. Oooooh he is on 33rdteam....whatever TF that is. Never heard of it before today.

Yeah you have, you just don't remember. The much discussed Martz piece he did after the SF CHI game.. that was a piece also for 33rd team. He nailed both these QBs a long time ago. I agree with him that JF needs to sit down. I thought JF would be playing better by now but I was wrong.
I bet you could get tickets for the Bears Broncos game for $2
