He has 7 TD passes in 8 games. That's a pace of about 15 TD passes. Counting the rushing TD's he has 10 TD's in 8 games. He has 6 INT's and fumbled 11 times(Lucky for him he only lost 1 of those fumbles). He has had maybe 2 decent games this season. But Trey has 1 bad game that was played in a monsoon and he is a bust. If Trey had Fields stat line right now, People would be in an uproar. Even with all those rushing yards.

I watched the NE and DAL games.. he played well. In the 49ers game he made winning plays a couple off script TD passes. He spent much of the year with EQ St Brown running routes. EQ St Brown would not make our team imo. I mean Dante Pettis is out there who also did not make our team. His rating and QBR are both markedly up this year vs last year, which shows clear improvement. Question is how much can he keep improving over time? If he keeps getting better he can be a player. It's an open question if he will or not.

I think if TL were playing and improving year to year, game to game.. folks would be happy.. aside from the haters who are in every thread

He's improved a lot. He shows a lot on athletic ability, off schedule plays, outside the pocket, rushing with excellent speed. His team is very under powered IMO. It's hard to even imagine what he could be until they put some better players around him.
It's weird he hasn't had an epileptic seizure on the field yet. I remember people losing their minds about that.

That's kind of my point though. Trey hasn't had an opportunity to improve yet because he has simply not played. Let's see how he progresses once he gets to play week after week for an entire season. Fields played the majority of last year, I think he started 12 games. And he has played 8 games this year. Trey started 2 games last season which was spread apart by a couple of months and he played 1 game and 2 series this season. But people are already quick to call him a bust. Fields was horrible almost every game last season and he has only played decent in a couple of games this season.

You need to have perspective when looking at Fields. His rookie year was a complete mess... Nagy had no idea what he was doing and the Bears were in flux. The last three weeks or so, Getsy has found something with the offense. He's realised they can't protect Fields so they've been moving him around more. He also has the worst receiving group I've ever seen. Equanemious St Brown is their best all around receiver... that's not a joke.

You would have to assume if Fields had what Lance has, he would be much more productive.

Please. I still haven't seen Fields throw an accurate deep pass like Lance has done a few times and he still takes unnecessary sacks, holds the ball too long and has poor pocket awareness.

Now Fields is getting better but they are certainly hiding him by running the ball at a tremendously insane rate

I think Lance and Fields will be the best 2 qbs out of this class bc Jones is hot garbage oftentimes, Lawrence is a turnover machine and so is Wilson

Ohhhh I see what your doing...

No reason to get upset because Lance is the worst of the bunch. Busts happen. The 49ers will be fine.

You and SD need to get banned if hes not a bust. Your guys takes are so awful, reminds of some Skip Bayless s**t. But at least he gets paid, you guys posts trash and nothing to show for it lol

I got your attention, that's all the payment I need.

Ah so you're one of these gen z kids that needs attention. Figures lol

He definitely is one of those kids. Attention needy and delusional. Goes hand and hand.

All of this. Fields was straight up inept and embarrassing. Lance has never had a performance like 90% of Fields games so let's stop with the comparing until Lance gets more of a sample size and stop propping up a qb that has been named Bustin Fields for VERY good reason.

Are they moving him around because of the Oline or is it because he is just not comfortable throwing from the pocket? This is big because in Kyle's offense you have to be able to throw from the pocket and Fields has yet to show he is comfortable doing that. Trey despite having way less experience and way less reps in the NFL has shown he is more comfortable in the pocket than Fields is. He is just needs to work on his accuracy and be abit more quicker with his release but that's going to come with experience. Fields looks like he wants no part of throwing from the pocket.

Well, they can't consistently protect him in the pocket. It's clear that he's uncomfortable at times and starts expecting a rush, but then there are plenty of examples of him working within the pocket and going through multiple reads.

It's easy to assume because of his athleticism that he's simply a scrambler... but his passing numbers were insane at Ohio State and he worked almost exclusively from the pocket.

What he needs to do is develop trust with the guys up front. When they start adding talent I'm sure we'll see a more comfortable Fields.

And he now is the first QB in NFL history to have a game in which he throws for 3 touchdowns and rushed for at least 140 yards.

You keep intentionally trashing Fields and you'll have him in the Hall of Fame. Maybe it's reverse psychology.

And in all seriousness that type of game is probably what Kyle envisioned for his offense with Lance. Which again is why it's a mystery that we didn't take him. But while trashing Lance at this point is still unnecessary so is trashing Fields. Both teams have who they do and being that thin skinned over others thinking Fields is better is a bit silly.

Yeah, his feelings are clearly hurt. What a game by Fields, though. Three more drops from his receivers, one on a 4th down to extend the game. 3 touchdown passes, zero interceptions... another 100+ QBR game.

They're still a power running team but you can't argue with his efficiency as of late and how much he's improving.

I saw a complaint about a blown obvious PI no call too and yeah Claypool was basically hugged for the majority of his route. Guy is definitely gaining confidence and getting better and better.
Just set the NFL record for rush yds by a QB in a regular season game

My goodness and we picked Trey Lance.

Let's see what the kid does next year, which will be his 3 year mark to really assess him. Thus far he's shown to be far superior as a runner than Trey but I like what I've seen from Trey, who may be inaccurate but seems like a better thrower.

Kinda sad that Trey got hurt because next year will be his year 1/3.
