Would it not make sense for the league to sidestep the decision to have the 2 teams most affected to make a decision together. There were discussions leading up to the decision, which was the right decision. Don't think you can fault any party in that situation. There were communication between the league office and the 2 teams and the right decision was eventually made. Not sure what the problem is other than the article trynna make more than what it was.

Glad Damar Hamlin is back. He's a walking miracle.

We're talking about a guy who had like 20k+? posts over the course of years and years, all to troll? There was obviously something wrong with him that he devoted that much time to it.

It all depends on the cause.

If it was commotio cordis (which is a diagnosis of exclusion) he wouldn't necessarily need an ICD and could play again. He probably would just wear a chest plate. He also likely needs follow up and further outpatient testing before he can be cleared. He also had a pretty severe lung injury (enough that he had to be proned) that will take a long time to heal.

There will be a lot of mental and psychological issues with him playing as well. No matter how tough he is (and he clearly is), he will have anxiety about getting hit in the chest again and likely needs some therapy beforehand.

Remarkable recovery though so I put nothing past him.

Great for him. I suspect they ruled out major structural and electrical abnormalities on his heart and think it was sort of a "bad luck" hit causing commotio cordis. I think that he will probably need the entire offseason to recondition and maybe even sit the whole season out and aim for 2024. I also think it would be prudent for him to wear some sort of lightweight chest protector when he gets back to pads and hitting.

Those freakos saying ,''IT WAS THE VACCINE!'' when this happened was unreal .

I really hope this kid thinks twice about stepping on a football field again. I hope the Bills offer him another opportunity.

yes, cuz it's not up to the NFL..
every player is at risk of this, he was unlucky enough to go through it, now the league should take away his dream, livelihood, career?
