This, plus what 49ATT said. Carr has shown to be just as bad at times as Jimmy G. Hell Jimmy G might be even cheaper than Carr and knows the system. The only upside would be that he's been relatively healthy. I view them performance wise most likely the same depending on the day.

Never once in carrs career, not one time, has he had even a decent defense. To speak nothing of our weapons. We'd be NFC sb favs

Lateral move from Garoppolo to Carr. Plus you'd have to trade for him which means giving up compensation. Also he's only 31 so if you trade for him, you're pushing Lance and Purdy out the door for sure.

No trade needed, he has to released or LV is forced to pay 40 mill in two weeks or end of February something like that

$32.9M by 2/15.

They can release him with a buyout of $25M and a cap hit of $6.250M by 2/15.

I would rather have JG.
You would rather have JG..? JG has never been on Carrs level. Carr was actually going to be MVP at one time. Jimmy hasn't came close to any accolade.

Carr has all the tools. He's had trouble with trying to win games on his own and it didn't work out.

In our system, Carr doesn't need to be the hero. He just needs to a healthy point guard

The point was to keep JG as a backup rather than pay the price for Carr.

afraid of the cap hit ?

Carr could be our 2021 Stafford.

I like our guys but thats taking a huge gamble to rely on them only. Not saying it has to be carr or bust, but he would help

Fitting.. that the Eagles got the fans to chant that QB drama and now the cause of this recent QB drama

That's true, but Carr has some of the same tendencies as Jimmy G where his mistakes example int, fumble, miss throw keeps the other teams in the game or even lets them win the game instead of them building a bigger lead or putting the team away. Now I'm not saying hes like this every time but like I mentioned it depends on the day.

heres just some examples:

shall we kick the tires on Carr?

Hard to kick tires I imagine he gets a long term deal with fat guarantees.. so you gotta be all in here imo

We mortgaged the future on a Division 2 QB with one years experience. Carr has swag, he would shake things up around here.

The window on winning the SB is shrinking for this team. With Brady retiring, and Rodgers showing no interest in coming here. Why not kick the tires on a vet like Derek Carr? I think a fresh start with a squad ready to go all in will motivate Carr.

Cap space isn't there.

Not having a defense on your team has nothing to do with your performance as a quarterback against opposing defenses. We weren't talking about wins we were talking about performance and David Carr is not a good quarterback under pressure. He chokes so often and he's always had some great weapons and a very good Oline up until recently.

I don't think Carr is concerned about Money, he wants to win so he can rub it the Raiders face... what better way than to do it in the Red and Gold
