This guy has always been regarded as a meat head along the lines of a Tomsula or Singletary. More of an inspirational leader than a pure X's and O's guy. I was really hoping that something would change or click, that he had turned over a new leaf but no, this is just who he is, running a defense that was tired back in 1999.

But he can't. Playcalling is a talent and a skill. It's being able to play chess, calling the right play at the right moment. Ryans was great at that, Wilks sucks at it.

nothing inspirational about this guy. he's up in his tower calling the dumbest scheme i have ever seen and instilling no fire whatsoever in the players

You're right. Wilks keeps putting us in the wrong defense. Blitzes when he shouldn't. Doesn't blitz when he should. Just always overmatched.
