That is what I was thinking too. I see no way with this next stretch of games. Seahags just upgraded their D line too.

Changes have to be made. Brock just isn't in the position to make up for a defense playing like a bottom 10 unit.

Exactly.

Here's the remaining schedule

  • @ Jacksonville
  • vs Tampa Bay
  • @ Seattle
  • @ Philadelphia
  • vs Seattle
  • @ Arizona
  • vs Baltimore
  • @ Washington
  • vs LA Rams

We're currently 5-3.

The next five games will make or break the season. That Seattle/Philadelphia stretch is brutal.

not a betting man but niners are certainly trending that way, 5-12.

They won't go 5-12. But 9-8 is possible without fixing the issues.

9-8 Is looking more than likely at this point and that's assuming the offense finds It's groove once again

I supported Saleh & Ryans when the D had some struggles in some stretches, but this feels monstrously different. I can't support Wilks based on what I've seen. It's not an issue of a few calls I didn't like, it's total team collapse on defense.

Guys are fundamentally unprepared, the scheme has them constantly out of position, and myself as a football intellectual but not an NFL coach am so easily able to point out severe issues pre-snap almost all game for the past two weeks. The play-calling has been horrific.

This team has never looked like this. We have far superior talent than we did under Ryans and Saleh now, and the amount of WTF mistakes and astonishingly bad play calls and situational incompetence is absolutely unconscionable. His scheme is a terrible transition away from what we did best. This isn't growing pains of a rookie DC, this is just flat out ineptitude.
You Nailed it but until Stubborn as a Goat make a change this season is down the drain
in position, just didn't make the play
that opening set the tone, guys have to execute better

It's called reality, I'm not gonna say a hire is a bad hire after 5 good weeks and 1 or 2 (or 3) bad ones

Try 3 good weeks and 5 bad ones. Because the Rams and Cards weren't talented enough to exploit the issues doesn't mean things were good.

99 yard drive to Cards.
That's much closer to reality maybe a little generous.

let's take a look around the NFL

I see a DC who gave up 70 in one game
seventy!

if I am correct, that dude, didn't get fired
he's still DC
they just won and held KC to 9

it's a long season, redemption is only a week away, (or two weeks, in this case )

Dude you must be the most saddest anti9er person I have ever seen ..Mr Sunshine himself.
